You were under attack in your dream suggesting you were feeling under attack in your waking life at the time. Before thinking about the bees, can you relate to feeling under attack, perhaps at work, or in your personal life?
When you feel under attack, you may respond defensively (attack back) or you may feel hurt and vulnerable, unable to find a way to deal with the attacking or to deal with how you feel when people set out to attack you in some way.
If you had remembered more details of the dream there would be clues as to the actual situation and why you are responding in the way you are. For now the only other detail we have are the bees – hundreds of them.
What springs to your mind when you think about bees?
“Busy bees” is one possibility. Are you so busy that you’re feeling under attack from workload, or are other people being overly busy and criticising you for not doing enough?
Bees sting and a swarm of bees can deliver a lot of sting. Have you felt stung by anyone’s attacking remarks recently?
Dreams also work with word play, so consider ‘bee’ as ‘be’. Busy bees are all do, do, do, yet perhaps they should spend some balancing time just being, be, be, be. That last sentence may sound silly, but the dreaming mind does work that way sometimes.
It will be helpful to you to identify where you’re feeling under attack and why you respond in the way that you do. I’ve suggested a Dialogue dream alchemy practice for you to do as I think it will provide the insight you need.
Dialogue
Your dialogue is between yourself and the swarm of bees. Start with you saying, “Why are you attacking me?” and see what the swarm automatically answers.
How to do this
Give yourself no longer than 20 minutes. When you do this exercise do NOT think! Don’t plan ahead. Just let whatever happens happen. Let the two entities speak to each other on paper using whatever words come up. It’s a bit like writing a film script or play – but without the brain being involved.
How does this work?
By not thinking, by keeping the words flowing, you are letting your right brain and unconscious mind do most of the work. They created the original dream so they know what these symbols mean for you. They will reveal. You will be surprised.
