I was unaware of being in a theatre but I was living or watching a movie.

I seemed to know the plot, except for one crucial scene that explained the turning point of the story.

Just as that scene started my daughter, who turned out to be beside me, asked a question which I hurriedly tried to answer, but by the time I'd done that the scene was over. I was quite cross as I'd sat through a lot of long boring preamble before reaching this point where the story finally takes off.

The film was about a guy who came to be given a unique record (LP) which had been hand carved by one of the Beatles back in his Beatle days. This record was so amazing and pure that when the guy's girlfriend recorded her songs on it, it was an instant success and they became wealthy and famous.

The bit I missed seeing explained how he came to be given the record.

Feeling frustrated that I'd missed that scene I left the theatre, not interested in seeing the rest of the movie. I walked out through the theatre door into a narrow hallway. As the door flew open and I huffed out, the door opposite flew open and a man, looking very much like one of the Beatles, stepped out and handed me THE record - the same one that had been in the movie. He said it was for me and I looked at it in delight. It was carved out in a heavy filigree style, in a psychedelic 60's pattern, and one side was covered in a yellow label in the carved pattern.

It was so beautiful but I had the fleeting thought that it was a) strange that an LP could be recorded over and b) that I couldn't see how it could even be played given that it was covered in carved holes. These thoughts were instantly replaced by intense excitement, as I knew that I could record this divine album that would make me incredibly rich.

As I stepped out of the building I was suddenly airborne, still in an upright, standing position, and very quickly moving forward down the street at about a metre above the ground until I was hovering over what I think was a rubbish bin. It felt surprising and fantastic.

I’ve had lots of flying dreams but this was totally different. In my flying dreams I decide to fly and make it happen, flying in a horizontal bird-like manner looking down at the earth below. This time it was as though someone else had control and was doing it to me. Also I was upright.

Then suddenly, I was zoomed up into the air then down so that I was travelling a few inches above the ground, lying on my back and accelerating at a phenomenal rate. I felt exhilarated, terrified and happy.

Suddenly my thighs felt as though they were being infused with something I can only describe as energy but don't know what it was. The sensation, incredibly tingly and intense, instantly woke me up.

As I lay there awake the sensation continued for a while then changed into a warm soft feeling which moved down into my lower legs. I was left with a feeling I can't quite describe. It was as though something wonderful and important would soon be happening to me, and as though someone/something 'out there' had done something to let me know/prepare me. I've never experienced anything like it.

Hi Nani,

Your dream has a 'destiny' feel in its theme: No matter that you missed the theory, no matter that it seemed impossible to record over a record with holes carved out of it, no matter that you left the theatre in a down mood .... the record, and the success, was still YOURS.

There is a huge amount in the symbolism of your dream. Others replying here will look at that. I just want to add two main comments:

Firstly, at significant points in my career as a dreams professional (11 years), I have had dreams of 'being flown' - as you have here. Mine were usually being flown from the audience (where I was happily watching something on stage) to being placed on the stage to talk to the audience. It was never frightening and was quite different from a normal 'in control' flying dream. The dream outcome was always good and was always followed, not long after, by a jump forward in my career. Usually the jump forward seemed to be at the instigation of someone else. I say 'seemed to be' because we all have to be READY for an event to unfold - then we bless the physical instigators!

The second thing I want to mention is the feeling you had in your thighs. I equate this, symbolically and physically, with childbirth, so I see this part of your dream symbolising your own creativity or productivity - what you are giving birth to. Symbolically it re-energised your legs - legs in dreams being needed for solid standing and moving forward.

But aside from symbolism I also frequently experience what I call my 'massage' dreams. In these some part of my body is massaged or given chiropractic treatment and I FEEL the warmth/ adjustment in the dream and wake up feeling wonderful. Frequently a strong sensation of magnetism accompanies the dream sensation. Most recently -last week - a dream man hovered his hand over my second chakra (as it was referred to in the dream) and I felt the intense warmth. Symbolically it all made sense too.

Now - records. Over to others ... the main clues here, as far as I can see, are in 'records' and the 60's.

It was great to get your insights Jane Teresa, I was hoping it meant something like that and it feels right. I can't make anything of the symbols - the only thing I can currently connect with records and 60's are that I've been going through records helping a friend who was born in the 60's locate her birth mother. But it really doesn't feel relevant or connected. Back to the drawing board.

Hi again Nani - I finally made it back here.

I see a need for silence and paying attention - intuitively you know the plot but you are missing something - if you look at your daughter as an aspect of Self what do you see? Are your thinking processes asking too many questions - the answers usually come in silence.

Are you at a turning point in your life??

Do you recognise your own inner wealth, purity, uniqueness, value and worth???

Record could also relate to records - as in your own subconscious record of all that has occurred for you and who you truly are.

The bit about the flying reminded me of several experiences I once had - zooming along at a million miles an hour amongst the stars, spinning incredibly fast, spiralling upward, being in a seated position not inches above the ground and moving like a hovercraft along a path. Always feeling at the time like the experiences were being done to me - eventually those experiences and many more showed me that I was far more than just a physical body with a name.

Like Jane Teresa I have also experienced hands on various parts of my body and I once had a huge set of female almond eyes take up my whole vision - her only words were - this will speed the process up - immediately I felt like a dentist's drill had been shoved in my mouth as noise and energy blasted through the right side of my mouth, teeth and body.

My physical body as it lay on the bed was totally paralysed during this experience and all I could do was lay there. When it was over and I "woke" my jaw was saw for several hours - I experienced a huge change in consciousness as a result of that experience and also a lot of emotions were released that had been held onto within the record of my DNA structure.

Don't know if any of that assists - just thought it may - to know that others experience that kind of thing also.

Some experiences for me were very frightening and totally confusing to my logical mind but something within me far greater and more powerful than "I" was always gave me the strength and courage to push through the fear, learn heaps about myself from the experiences and find the answers for myself in silence.

Hello Star, Thanks for your input. It hit the nail on the head (or me you could say). I have become aware that I intellectualise far too much and need to trust my feelings and instincts more, and the need for silence is so true. Again there have been recurring synchronicities around this issue and for weeks now I've had thoughts of doing a week retreat. Not the right time now, but feel it coming.

But most interesting of all, and what I've been vaguely aware of but which your posting has really highlighted, is the number of times lately and the completely convincing way, in which evidence has been presented to me, and which I then turn around and question - oh, that was co-incidence, or I must go back one more time and see if I experience the same thing again and so on. It comes down to trust I suppose, or intuition. And my daughter is incredibly fabulous, down-to-earth and left brain.

I really like your ideas on records too. They ring true.

Thanks again Star, you've given me plenty to think about before I take the plunge and stop thinking so much.

Hi,

An update on a previous dream, Energy Blast, on the previous page. I loved your explaination Jane Theresa, but couldnt see how it could possibly be true for me - the leap in career - as I dont actually have one at this point. And this ties in with Tom's post, Cannibal Catfish, which he submitted around the same time. Are you still out there Tom? I'm an art student, part-time hons, and was really feeling a need to earn my own money - for independence, self-esteem etc. After years of raising my children then going back to study I was totally dependent, financially, on my husband. I had sold a few photos and made a few videos for friends and aquaintances for the cost of expenses, sometimes a bit more, but that was all. So when this dream happened I was a bit bemused. And at the same time, I decided I would have to get serious about an income, even if it meant going back and doing supply teaching. This was a last resort, I really didnt want to do this as Ive spent too much time, money and energy training to do something I really love and it felt like a regressive step. But like Tom deciding to go to Miami, I registered to go back teaching. By the time my registration came through I was far too busy with other projects to do anything about it, then a week or so later a friend who has just set up her own PR business asked if I could make a video for one of her clients. It was done in a rush due to their bumbling, but they loved the result, want two more done and I submitted my bill 2 days ago and it was GREAT! (and lucrative). So it seems it's that old universal law you spoke of Star - you have to let go and just show youre prepared to do whatever it takes, just to show you mean it.

Ive had this experience before after my first child was born. We'd been living in South Africa for years and I wanted to raise our children back home in NZ. However my husbands work is fairly specialised and after a year or so of looking out for work there we just decided we'd return anyway, and work at anything. Shortly after that he was offered a job out of the blue - the only one available at that time in NZ that fitted his qualifications and experience! And I was struck at the time by the fact that it happened because we got totally committed even if it meant sacrifice.

So I look forward to my next dream of being propelled forward by an external force.

And happy birthday for yesterday Star. I was thinking of you as we celebrated my daughters birthday. Hope it was a good one.

Dreams always hold those keys ... it's then up to us to follow through, and you have done this by letting go ... It's difficult to blast forward if you're holding on to the old ways ...

Was THE BEST b'day I reckon I've had in about 20 odd years - maybe even longer.

If my day yesterday is any indication of the coming year for me - WOW - it's gonna be great!
