"Flies"

Author

Subject: Flies

Angela

Hi Everyone,

I'll start this synchronicity with two dreams I had in the same night:

1) I was with several people and we were in my parent's backyard when there was an invasion of an over-abundance of flies (or bees). They were everywhere and everyone began to panic. We were trying to get them out of things, shaking them off our legs, tearing across the lawn. I pushed my sister in through the back door of the house and tried to come up with an idea to get away from these flies. But then we discovered they were in the house too. I rushed inside and found the ruler of the flies, isolated it and killed it. And suddenly we all began to relax, knowing now that the whole colony would die off.

2) Again I was in the backyard of my parent's house. There were bees or flies all around me, being very invasive. I could feel a terrible panic and was trying to get rid of them, but not get them angry. When they lifted off me as I waved a hand, I ran as fast as I could into my bedroom, but one fly was too close to me and managed to get in the room with me. I remember that my hair was soaking wet. I tried to stomp the fly down, but then realized that it was a teeny-tiny person (finger size) and he had a kite and was flat like a cartoon on a page. Then I turned around and there was a bit bigger person with a bigger kite.

****

Within about a week and a half the synchronicities began in waking life. I had just gotten out of the shower and my hair was soaking wet, when I heard a strange buzzing noise coming from the spare room at the end of the hall. I crept down to the room to find the whole back wall covered in flies!!

The temperature had been swinging wildly outside from freezing to 15 degrees. On that day it was 15 degrees and the flies that had gone to wherever they go when it gets too cold, all came back to life and found their way in through a leaky window and into my house.

There were many 'irritating' connections and bouts of insecurity buzzing around soon after. As well as a period of terrible panic. But I'm aware too of the great dream image of the kites at the end, because kites are a wonderful thing to FLY!

Also, the dreams came back to me again a couple days ago as I was booking a flight...

I can see how the fly as irritant in the first dream began its psyche transformation by my second dream, showing me that when I isolate what is the root of the inner problem, rid myself of it, there then follows potential to fly to great heights. My second kite guy was still only knee-high, but I have hope that he will continue to grow.

Hi Angela,

This is synchronistic! I was just reading "The Voice of the Infinite in the Small, Re-visioning the Insect- Human Connection" by Joanne Lauck. It's basis seems to be about all creatures (flies included) being part of our collective unconscious.

There is a great section about a western woman's encounter with swarms of bush flies in Australia as she is accompanied by local Aboriginies. She gagged and choked as the flies descended on her, while the natives stood passively until the flies left. After several such encounters, the aboriginal leader, Regal Black Swan, took her aside and said "There are no freaks, misfits or accidents. There are only things that humans do not understand."

The following is all directly from the book:

He told her that she only believed bush flies were hellish because she wasn't wise and didn't understand how necessary and beneficial they really were.

"They crawl down our ears and clean out the wax and sand that we get sleeping each night. Do you see we have perfect hearing? Yes, they climb up our nose and clean it out too...It is going to get much hotter in the days to come, and you will suffer if you don't have a clean nose. ..The flies crawl and cling to our body and take off everything that is eliminated ... See how soft and smooth our skin is and look at yours...You need the flies to clean your skin, and someday we will come to the place where the flies have laid the larvae, and again we will be provided a meal."

Regal Black Swan looked intently at Morgan, ending his talk by reminding her that humans cannot exist if every unpleasant thing is eliminated instead of understood. "When the flies come, we surrender. Perhaps you are ready to do the same."

Angela, whether any of the above resonates it's great to talk to you again. I am still stabbing away at my dreams, etc.

Diane, hi!

It's been a long time. Too long! As always, it's so nice to see you. Great to hear you're still stabbing away at the dreams. You stab. I'll swat.

This is quite a synchronicity. To imagine that you were actually reading about flies while I was dreaming them and fighting them. And what an interesting story.

It had occurred to me to ask myself what exactly flies were useful for and I couldn't come up with any kind answer at all. Nothing but to feed the spiders! And neither am I too happy about having these inside my house... I imagined that flies would even be a bother to the cows, but really they must be very helpful.

You've given me another whole dimension to think about, Diane. So now I'm seeing that flies may also be symbolic of the need to continually clean and be aware of the senses in order to receive intuition better -- to have better hearing. And it also points out that everything, even the flies have their place.

Thanks for this helpful addition, Diane.

Angela.

Hi Angela and Diane,

In nature there seem to be lots of associations between lifeforms that provide an interesting benefit for both. Like the story about the flies, and the insects that live on animals and provide a cleaning and disposal service.

I once had an army of ants in my kitchen that targetted a weevil that was cocooned under a cornice near the ceiling. They climbed up the wall and cleaned the whole thing away, then disappeared. I sent a mental message to them to say they could come back any time! I've looked at ants in a different light ever since!

love, Lena

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.
