I was offered black grapes by a man. What does it mean to eat black grapes as opposed to white?

OVERVIEW INTERPRETATION
Hi Shiny Sky,
Unfortunately a dream dictionary approach is not really useful. There is no one ‘meaning’ for any symbol that applies to everyone. Why is this?
Firstly you may have your own personal associations with grapes, or with black and white as a theme. Our own personal associations are always more important, in interpreting a dream, than more generalised associations.
Also, you can often get a better insight into the meaning of a dream if you look at the whole story, how the symbols interact, what feelings come up and so on.
Your unconscious mind chose to put black and white grapes in your dream as symbols of how you currently (pun almost intended) see the world.
A great way to get in touch with your OWN unconscious PERSONAL dream dictionary is to do a dialogue.
You’ll see how this works in this Dream Alchemy Practice I’ve suggested for you:
DREAM ALCHEMY PRACTICE
Dialogue:
Your dialogue is between a Black Grape and a White Grape. Start with the Black Grape saying, “Call yourself white, do you?” and see what the Black Grape automatically answers. Keep it going for 20 minutes.
How to do this:
Give yourself no longer than 20 minutes. When you do this exercise do NOT think! Don’t plan ahead. Just let whatever happens happen. Let the two entities speak to each other on paper using whatever words come up. It’s a bit like writing a film script or play – but without the brain being involved.
How does this work?
By not thinking, by keeping the words flowing, you are letting your right brain and unconscious mind do most of the work. They created the original dream so they know what these symbols mean for you. They will reveal. You will be surprised.

Hi Shiny Sky,
The main clue for the interpretation of dreams is to look for opposites and pay attention to how you were feeling in the dream.
So here you have a black/white issue and I would be interested to know if it was a white man offerring the black grapes?
People in dreams represent aspects of ourselves, so the man you saw was your masculine self.
What do you think of grapes? Do you like them? Hate them? Are you allergic to them?
If, for example, you eat a lot of grapes and you think of them as nourishing, then the dream MIGHT be saying that you should pay more attention to your inner masculine energy, because it can provide you with sustenance at times of low energy. Does that make sense to you at all?

hi
it was a white man offering them to me, but the issue isn't about race!
I like black grapes but the meaning might differ in a dream though. Just hoping that someone might have a meaning for them!
Thanks Shiny Sky |

The meaning is yours and yours alone Shiny Sky. If you write down all your thoughts and feelings about black grapes, you will have there the meaning that you seek.
Then that meaning, may need to be assimilated by you (eaten). Could be that you would do well to accept and assimilate your Yang energy right now. |

Thank you for your time and help, but I don't subscribe to the yin yang belief.
I still don't know what it means, but im sure Ill find out eventually.
With thanks Shiny Sky |

Have you ever observed the presence of opposites in life? Day/night, hot/cold, man/woman, yes/no, wake/sleep and so on.
You don't have to subscribe to the Yin Yang belief to comprehend that opposites exist.
A man in a woman's dream is often there to represent an internal opposite. Opposites exist also within us. When we are too one-sided, we can get out of balance.
Shiny sky, I hope you were able to work out what black grapes symbolised for you.
May your dreams bring you enlightenment, Beth. |

hi beth yes,
As in black for evil (dark colour) and white for good (light colour)
this is man known to me in real life!, he was in my bed offering me black grapes. The dream ended there.

Aha! So you have discovered your personal meaning for light and dark grapes, both delicious too I presume.
Is your intuition speaking in the dream then, telling you to be cautious or wary in regard to this man that you know?
If you believe this is so, does it suddenly make sense to you?
Or could it be a reflection of an unconscious belief e.g. "Men are aren't to be trusted"?

I don't know what to think!
I try and put myself in his shoes, and I can't, I don't know what its like to offer someone black grapes !
I do associate black as a colour with dark and secretive matters, and maliciousness, and harm, and black magic too, and of course white is the other way round for me. These are personal beliefs, however I have never associated grapes with anything evil!
I can only assume that hes offering me something evil, in the guise of something sweet, or he has dark thoughts about me, or hatred. I can't think of anything else! |

In the dream, how did you feel when he offered the grapes? Were you wary, delighted? Did you eat them? If so, were they good?
How did he respond to you accepting the grapes?
It is good to note what you felt in the dream. Our dream feelings are the best guide. For example, if they were good and you felt comfortable about accepting them from him and eating them - well that is definitely a positive sign.
If you felt scared, or doubtful eating them, them then that gives a different meaning to the grapes and the dream, doesn't it.
When you write a dream down, to really do it justice you need to write in every detail, including every thought, and feeling that occurred in the dream. This enhances your chances of learning something really valuable from your dream sight!

hi again! :)
They were sweet, but black looking, well of course they were, they were black grapes -LOL.
I didn't feel anything, any emotions good or bad, which is odd for me, except when I woke up I was wondering why they were black and not white!
with thanks Shiny Sky |

Could it be that black grapes are actually sweeter? Could he be offering you something wonderful, showing you his sweetness, kindness, a giving nature?
