OVERVIEW INTERPRETATION
Hi Mary,
You were starring in a movie and one thing that happened in this dream was a lot of moving on. Dreams use word play and ‘movie’ may reflect questions of moving on in your life.
Sean moved on into the sunlight, you were waiting on the staircase but were then moved on to your music teacher, your music teacher ordered you to move on and find the corporal, you found yourself moving on (running, driving then flying) and along the way you fare-welled your music teacher who was also moving on.
The theme of your dream is moving on! The question is how do you feel about it?
What does Sean William Scott represent to you? Does something spring to mind? If not, write down three words to describe his approach to life, either as himself or in the kind of roles he plays. In your dream you embraced him, suggesting that you are embracing one or more of these characteristics into your life. In the dream Sean then ran off into the sunlight. The sun usually represents your awareness, in contrast with what is unseen in the unconscious mind. In your dream you embrace a quality that has, until now perhaps, been unconscious. Now you are aware of it.
You then dreamed of your music teacher. What does she represent to you? Harmony? Expression? Hard work? If nothing springs to mind, write down three words to describe her approach to life and then ask yourself which of these characteristics is playing a role in your life now. She is ready to leave your life (the farewell party), so which of these characteristics are you perhaps ready to let go? You are upset in the dream. Is it time to grieve what you are leaving behind as you move on?
You refer to Sean as the Corporal. That makes him sound official, a disciplinarian or someone who imposes or follows rules and regulations. At first glance this seems to contrast with the music teacher (creative expression) but you need discipline and rules to learn an instrument and to play music well. Is this a time for you to embrace more self-discipline? Is the staircase in your dream like a set of musical scales, or the path to a higher level of playing? To climb, do you need to follow the corporal?
The toilets in your dream may symbolise letting go (toilets are places to let go of waste, toxins and whatever is no longer needed). After running through the toilets you arrive at the farewell party, a double letting go. What is it that your music teacher represents that you are letting go?
When you flew off the cliff did you get the feeling you would fall or continue to fly? Were you taking a leap of faith, placing your faith in whatever the Corporal represents? The cry of the townspeople, “No”, represents your own fear in taking the plunge. Leaps of faith are part and parcel of moving on. Is your faith in embracing the Corporal well placed? What are your fears? What are your hopes?
Your dream revealed that the whole drama was a play or movie, a dvd. The actors don’t die in a movie; they move on to play other roles. In life we play many roles, what roles are you playing now, which are you ready to relinquish and which are you ready to take on? What life story are you creating?

DREAM ALCHEMY PRACTICE
Dialogue:
Your dialogue is between the music teacher and the corporal. Start with the corporal saying, “How can I help you?” and see what the music teacher automatically answers. Keep it going for 20 minutes.
How to do this:
Give yourself no longer than 20 minutes. When you do this exercise do NOT think! Don’t plan ahead. Just let whatever happens happen. Let the two entities speak to each other on paper using whatever words come up. It’s a bit like writing a film script or play – but without the brain being involved.
How does this work?
By not thinking, by keeping the words flowing, you are letting your right brain and unconscious mind do most of the work. They created the original dream so they know what these symbols mean for you. They will reveal. You will be surprised.
