Hi This is my sister's dream:
I saw a wolf chasing me whilst I was walking barefoot. It wouldn't stop following me. Then it turned into a man with an orange shirt whom I didn't want to talk to. The sky turned darker, I was now sitting on the ground and he sitting very, very close to me. He said something like, “I’m not letting you leave me”. He was facing me and held a knife to my heart!
He threatened to kill me if I didn't stay with him. I said, “Please don't kill me. I won't leave you”. I felt upset and scared that he was going to kill me and that I’d lose everything. (I don’t know why on earth I agreed. It’s against my nature to give in to threats.) He wanted me to give him some blood and sign a contract or to seal a contract but then I was upset and didn’t want to. He said I should have been killed a long time ago. I am single, and avoiding a co-worker who seems to be taking an unusual interest in me.

Overview Interpretation & Dream Alchemy Practice suggestion |
OVERVIEW INTERPRETATION
Something that chases you in a dream represents something you are running away from, or not confronting, in waking life. Of course it seems sensible to run away from a frightening wolf in a dream, but it is not so sensible to run away from our waking life fears. The more we run away from things we don’t want to confront the more threatening they seem. Turning around and confronting a situation usually results in it diminishing. What we were afraid to face turns out to be nowhere near as fearful once we look it in the eye.
And so it is with your dream. As you said, you didn’t want to talk to the man, showing that you don’t want to ‘talk to’ this issue in waking life.
So what is it that the wolf and the orange-shirted man represent?
In the dream the man said he was not letting you leave him. What, in your life at the time of your dream, were you thinking of leaving – or – what were you feeling tied to? In the dream you said he was sitting very, very close. This is an issue that’s very close to you.
In the dream he threatens your heart. In your past or present, has a close tie felt threatening to you/ your heart/ your feelings? This could be a person or a situation. The blood contract sounds like a family tie – blood tie.
In the dream you are forced to face the wolf-turned-man, forced to face your fear. This fear seems to be the fear of moving on, of untying ties, of, as you said in the dream, “losing everything”.
What have you worked hard to gain that you feel fearful of losing? This could even be related to a work issue as the same theme is coming up in the form of a work colleague at the moment. Do you feel tied to your work but would prefer to leave?
DREAM ALCHEMY PRACTICE
Dialogue:
Your dialogue is between the wolf and you. Start with you saying, “Why are you chasing me?” and see what the wolf automatically answers. Keep it going for 20 minutes.
How to do this:
Give yourself no longer than 20 minutes. When you do this exercise do NOT think! Don’t plan ahead. Just let whatever happens happen. Let the two entities speak to each other on paper using whatever words come up. It’s a bit like writing a film script or play – but without the brain being involved.
How does this work?
By not thinking, by keeping the words flowing, you are letting your right brain and unconscious mind do most of the work. They created the original dream so they know what these symbols mean for you. They will reveal. You will be surprised.

Hi Glow,
Your sister is obviously feeling quite threatened by this man's attention. Does the man in waking life wear an orange shirt? Did the man in the dream look like the co-worker she is avoiding?
To my understanding orange in its negative state can be associated with deep fear and it relates to our gut reactions. The fear that is present may have its source in a past experience that may have traumatised your sister. That fear, may still be with her now influencing how she experiences life, and others in the present. This man's intense interest in her may be triggering that deep (unconscious) fear again.
The wolf can be a symbol of a fearful predator. Remember the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf?
Wolf can be scary and devour us. Likewise fear is also devouring, it eats us up, consumes us. Fear can keep us captive and destroy our lives. Thus the wolf may represent her own fear.
These wolf dreams may indicate that it is time to work with and release that fear. In order to do so it can be helpful to identify original cause of such a fear response, and to work at understanding why the fear may have been denied expression in the past, and how it has been influencing her experience of life and relationships. Such a process can pave the way for your sister to liberate herself from that fear.
Your sister might like to read Jane Teresa Anderson's book "Dream Alchemy" which can be purchased from this website. There she will discover dream alchemy practises that she can use to work with the wolf dreams and be free of the fear forever.
May this dream bring your sister enlightenment and freedom, Beth. |

Hi Beth
Thanks for taking the time to reply,if this helps, my sister says the man looks identical to the one at work shes been avoiding, and doesn't want to get involved with him, but he's always present in her dreams as a wolf, in one form or another.
She doesn't fear wolves in real life or anything, but she can't understand why she keeps seeing him. He also howls in her dreams as a wolf when he sees or picks up on anything that suggests she likes someone else. Added to that she told me she has seen him in wolf form with yellow slanted eyes, and on other occasions with red slanted eyes (like devil eyes, no iris present )in her dreams. And he seems to be angry with her for some reason, or no apparent reason as she puts it.
The wolf has also come up to her in a few dreams with a red rose in its mouth, and on a couple of occassions a white rose.Which from her point of view doesn't make sense, she reckons a wolf and a rose don't go together, like a puppy or a horse and a rose (in dream terms).
My sister has been stalked once in real life, but the stalker has now been caught by the police, so its not the same person, their faces look very different. Its definitley a work colleague she says.

Aha Glow, you say she has had the experience of being stalked, which is associated to being prey, thehunted. This must have been very scary to her at the time. How intense was her fear then, did she fear for her life?
Such traumatic experiences can leave their mental imprint upon our unconscious mind, triggering a fear response which may be denied or suppressed but occurring nevertheless, whenever elements of outer circumstances make a near enough fit to elements of the traumatic experience.
When the unconscious notices this it sets off an alarm response. If this is denied or suppressed it will then appear in our dreams.
If this is what is happening to your sister it might be very helpful to seek counselling to help her process the original event e.g. associated thoughts, feelings and any behavioural changes that have occurred as a result of the traumatic experience.
The dream wolf bearing the red rose and sometimes the white rose, is very intriguing. What are your sister's associations to the idea of being given a single red rose, a single white rose? What would each mean to her?
My immediate associations are passion-red, white- peace, purity and innocence however your sister's associations are vital. It seems wolf is offering both.
Could it perhaps be suggesting that if she gets to know the wolf (the fear),if she can name it, understand and release it she will gain the gifts represented by the roses (and what they symbolise for her). This puts dream wolf in the position of a potentially healing symbol.
Now about 'eyes'. I have found that eyes in dreams can be saying something about the self, as in 'I' (a phonological ambiguity).
Here again, what thoughts pop up for her when she thinks of red, and yellow?
The Aurasoma qualities given to yellow in the negative are anxiety, suspicion, nervousness, lack of assimilation, and fear.
Red in its negative aspect is also associated with stress, nervousness.
Could it be that deep down she or rather "I am feeling fearful and stressed deep down inside".
Why is she avoiding this man, her co-worker? What is it about him that makes her want to avoid him?
When she hears the sound of a wolf howling, how does it make her feel. How would she describe that sound? Exciting, bloodcurdling?
Recurring dreams keep on until will resolve the issues symbolised in the dream.
Beth.

Hi there Beth, you've given me a lot to think about.
Ive asked my sister abotu the questions you kindly posed.
Shes a strong willed and freedom loving young lady, very pretty looking, and she didn't fear for her life, but was very concerned about the invasion of her privacy. Shes still stong willed and very fond of her free will etc.
She only had a couple of dreams of the stalker, who the police have dealt with now, and she was strong enough to cope with that.
She says this is something different.Shes not in a relationship, and if she even feels any affection or attraction towards any man in her dreams this wolf character (who she knows is her colleague in real life) turns up and howls she says its chilling to hear, as if the wolf is in pain.
She sees the wolf with red very slanted eyes,(like daggers) and sometimes with yellow eyes (very slanted no pupil or iris)when shes involved with a different man in her dreasms, and says she felt the emotions of the wolf once, and it was angry with her, not the man she was involved with!
My sisters associations with red roses are good, and for white roses too. They're supposed to be in dream terms declarations of love etc, but a wolf she thinks is the opposite, and take advantage of people, and is treacherous, and harmful. She does not know why this man would want her to stay with him, or threaten her with a razor blade to her heart, these are not symbols or the actions of love according to her.
She has been told by a psychic that the yellow eyes relect the jealousy of the wolf/colleague, and the red eyes, rage and anger, and involvement of the wolf in black magic etc.
I don't know what to make of it, or why the wolf would pursue her, something feels very dark here.
Shes one of the toughest and adventurous people I know, but seeing this wolf so often is confusing for her.
Shes avoiding him, because hes (she thinks) spying on her, and watching her all the time, she doesn't know what his real motives are, although shes very much a lone wolf herself in the sense of liking her own company, and a bit wild, shes not predatory in any sense. As you say "Recurring dreams keep on until will resolve the issues symbolised in the dream ", shes had enough of seeing him in her dreams, and picking up on his thoughts, and behaviour.

Hi Glow,
I sense that if you sister can understand why the wolf is appearing her dreams that he will most likely stop appearing in them.
Holding a dialogue with a dream symbol (wolf) can result in immediate insight. How to do it is explained clearly in "Dream Alchemy".

I think its symbolises this man who has tanken a deep interest in her, but hes dangerous, a dangerous man in love with her.
