I've had a very strange experience with the number 105. It started with a dream though I don’t recall details.

A few days later, after the dream, I was in an airport watching the news, and my initials were somehow on the screen. I looked to the left of the TV, and this guy is holding a boarding pass for seat 105. Not really a big deal, just a weird coincidence.

Then, my mom comes to visit, she's in room 105.

I go to a New Years party and we get seated at table 105.

My girlfriend randomly picks our anniversary as "the Friday after New Years", which turns out to be January 5th (01.05), which also happened to be the deadline for my Harvard application.

There have been several other appearances: a supposedly random username generator suggests "tbrown105"; suddenly having the urge to check the time and clock reads 1:05.

As I think back, this number has been in my life before, although I didn't recognize it. For example, my Air Force detachment in college was detachment 105.

If you add up the numbers they equal 6 - the number 6 is about celebration, reward for past efforts, its a joyful number. The number 6.

People who resonate to the number 6 like to be appreciated, especially for handling responsibility. When the 105 comes up, it could represent a time when home and family are a strong focus for you. Friendship, love and affection are high on your list of priorities. You can be quite diplomatic. Perhaps the 105 comes up to mirror to you what's going on in your life or what needs to be focussed on!?

There's a myriad of things a 6 can be depending upon what you feel it is. If you're in a 6 year or coming up on one that could be something too. To know what year you're in add your day and month of birth ie 22 July = 2+2+7 = 11 and then add the year so 2001 = 3.......... so 11+3 = 5 I'm in a 5 year!

... The others you have mentioned include username and detachment ... both forms of id .. were these in some way associated with endings and beginnings too? (And/or is the more general meaning of the word 'detachment' significant?)

There are several major life circumstances which seem to generate more synchronicities than others. (I have written about these, and the understanding behind the observation) in "The Shape of Things to Come".

One is CHANGE which is the same as ENDINGS/BEGINNINGS.

My feeling is that during this time of 105 synchronicities you have been faced with some changes and the particular symbolism of the 105 is not only re-iterating 'death of the old and birth of the new' but also carrying a personal-association reminder of the first time the 105 ever came up in your life.

Hopefully with the kind of questions and replies you'll receive here, you'll be able to discover that first 105 occurrence and then work out what its particular significance was for you then (which event, emotion or feeling it tagged) and then look at why you are being reminded of this now.

True synchronicities begin with a dream which then manifests outwards, though many people miss the dream through lack of recall.

You've posted the same post to both the Dream Forum and the Synch Forum because of this, and with JuliA's response first up it looks like the main thread is going to occur here. However, for the sake of completion and reference (all forum discussions are archived and accessible to the community for years), I'll copy/paste my reply to the Synch Forum too.

My birthday is April 21st, so if my math is right, I am in a 1 year. You mentioned reward for past efforts, my apps to business school have been a lot of effort, and I should be seeing those rewards soon! Your description of a "6" person is pretty accurate as well. Thanks for the reply.

5/10: The most significant event when I was 10 was probably my parents divorce. The only memory that stands out when I was 5 happened while moving from Germany to New Mexico. I woke up in a strange apt in NYC to find my dad, brother, and sister gone. Apparently, my grandmother had had a heart attack and my dad left to go be with her. I didn't know why they left until I asked my mom about it today.

I checked my birth certificate, I was born at 2:40pm, not 1:05...that would have been way too wierd...

mom's visit- My mom and grandmother came down to visit (different grandmother) for no particular reason.

I'll keeping thinking about the first time 105 ever popped up....haven't come up with anything yet.

I recently read a book by Deepak Chopra called "how to know God", and in it he explains how we can influence our environment because God is within all of us (or something like that), I take all of this 105 business as a reflection of that, kind of like a higher self communicating with myself. I think that my decision to go back to school is being reinforced, but I didn't really need it to be reinforced. Now, the decision as to whether or not the girlfriend comes with is a different story.

on that note, I'll also add that I have posted in here before, maybe a year ago. I had a strange experience involving my girlfriend and lightning, we drove through love county, etc. Maybe you remember...

Hi t,

Still observing the death of the old/ birth of the new theme through your feedback:

At 10 there was the divorce (death of old, birth of new) which must also have involved a degree of separation from one parent??

At 5 there was the move from Germany to New Mexico (death of old country/home/lifestyle, birth of new) PLUS the frightening feeling of separation/abandonment when you woke up alone PLUS the death of your grandmother PLUS the name of the city you were in (NYC) began with NEW. PLUS the city you were moving to (New Mexico) began with NEW.

How many deaths/births/New/ changes is that? With a possibility of a theme of separation running through... (including separation from old country, possibly old language and so on ..)

Deepak/God/ Higher Self communicating .... My language is different but the outcome is the same. We see ourselves reflected in symbolic ways both in our dreams and in our waking lives, 'ourselves' including depths beyond our conscious understanding. In reading the synchronicities we are reading our depths and usually experiencing insights which are on their way to becoming conscious. This is the mystery of synchronicity: that we are experiencing that which is not yet conscious ....but which soon will be (usually within days to weeks). Enlightenment in motion.

Your 'love country' dream. I do recall it in outline. You can go back through the pages of this forum to find it, if you roughly know the date. (It hasn't been archived over to the members' area yet.) Then you can post the ref here for others to check out ...

10.05 ... pretty near 105...

I've used two different names, tbone and tbrown, I'm going to go with tbrown from now on.

Thats very interesting that you posted at 10:05...guess it shows that we are all not as disconnected as we think. Or maybe it was just a coincidence....who knows?

The post I was referring to that involved my girlfriend was titled "love" and was posted on May 17, 2000.

You mentioned a theme of separation running through. As a military dependent I moved every 2 or 3 years while growing up. This type of lifestyle requires an ability to detach yourself from people/places, etc. The first move that I remember was the Germany to New Mexico via NYC trip when I was 5.

This relates to my current situation in that I am going to move in September, and I have a choice of severing the relationship with my girlfriend, or asking her to come with. Obviously, I have been conditioned to drop people when I move, and my instinct is to do the same here. This is similar to the divorce of my parents...a choice to move forward or just forget it.

You mentioned death of the old/birth of the new. My first thought is death of the old me that is willing to move on without looking back, birth of the new me that hangs on to something important.

All of these events relating to the number 105 seem to be reinforcing that I've got a lot of thinking to do.

Now you'll be able to relax and absorb the meaning of future 105 occurrences without doing all the basic detective work which you've already achieved. You have a platform to start from.

It's possible that a new recurring synchronicity theme may evolve to match your inner shifting.

Yes, the thinking is yours ... what I'd like to suggest, for you and, of course, in general for everyone follwing this thread, is that life tends to cycle until we learn the lesson of the cycling and move on.

Viewed this way, the solution is to understand the origins of the cycle and then break them. Sounds obvious, but doesn't always seem so in the middle of the process.

This is where my approach to synchronicity differs radically from the current new age mainstream approach:

The m/s approach is to see synchronicity as a sign to follow. If you followed your 105's literally, t, you could end up re-cycling ... going back over the same ground of 'separate and let go' (as you have described above).

My approach is to view the synchronicity as a waking life symbol of what is going on inside... and of what is breaking through into consciousness. In simple terms, the synchronicities of waking life are the symbols of "Hey! Are you ready to look at this situation symbolised by this now and gain new insight? You're ready to make all the links that will help you to make changes ... but the choice is yours."

I guess you could also see a synchronicity as a sign from God holding up movie clappers chalked,

"Life Lesson Number 99 (or 105) Over to you".

I'll definitely make sure to watch out for any more 105 occurrences.

I've opened my ears to the idea of synchronicity, but I am still a little skeptical. It occurred to me that maybe my dream of the number 105 simply made me notice the number more. Maybe the number 105 hasn't occurred any more than, say, the number 123, I've just been sensitive to it because of my dream. If I made a point to notice the number 123, I'd probably see it around too, right?

Assuming that synchronicity is a real phenomenon, then I would ask why all the symbolism? Why speak in a language that can be misinterpreted?

Regardless, posting in this forum has made me think about my situation more carefully, which can only have positive results. Thanks for providing a forum to discuss these issues!

That's what the forums are here for ... community interaction and bouncing around of feelings, ideas, symbols and so on related to dreams .... with personal elucidation being the goal.

Though the proverbial journey is fun too.

To answer your questions (as many people are following this thread and may have the same questions):

Is a synchronicity more a case of noticing a number once you look for it, you ask.

How can you test this? As you suggest, you could look for 123's. (Though this would be a likely combo - maybe try something apparently more random such as 296.) However, this number (123, 296 or whichever you choose) suddenly isn't random and meaningless any more because it now represents your quest to test synchronicity (amongst other things).

I came up against this while doing the hypnotherapy experiments reported in The Shape of Things to Come, though I worked out as many tests as I could to get as close as I could to good testing conditions.

The next aspect to consider (as I did also with the hypnotherapy) is, "Are you seeing 105's (123's, 296's) because you are CREATING them?"

You asked why synchronicity would appear in symbolic form.

My reply is that as synchronicity is a reflection of what is moving from the unconscious into consciousness, it tends to be expressed in the language of the unconscious - which is also the language of dreams.

So yes, we may consciously misinterpret (owing perhaps to our left brained education), but we can argue the same about our dreams. Our unconscious language is simply a more ancient part of our being ... one we have lost touch with to a large extent ...

105 has made a few more appearances, but now its backwards. I was eating lunch by myself in the same cafeteria that I've eaten in literally hundreds of times, and I look up and notice the room number of the cafeteria is, you guessed it, 105. The number is posted on a glass door, so when looking from inside, its backwards. Also had another random user experience where a friend was given the number 501.

I thought I had it figured out, does this ever end??

I was trying to test out synchronicities today. I decided that I would look for the theme of Sprite bottles. And see how many sprite bottles turned up.

I went out from my room and down the hall, and then I reminded myself, "Sprite." As soon as I said this to myself, I went through the door that leads outside and some girl came down the stair carrying a sprite bottle. Then I saw a glimpse (like half a second) of a sprite can at breakfast, the rest of the day it was Coco-cola though.

I wonder if I had been trying to see Coco-cola bottles if the girl coming down the stairs would have had a Coke instead?

Hi T and all.

Man, can I ever relate to you! I've spent all of the past year, at least, being inundated with synchronicities. I have asked the very same question, time and time again. Does it ever end?

No. Not from my experience. I'm apparently discovering, what Jane tagged as 'generational synchronicities' right now, if that gives you any indication of a beginning and an end...

I think once you get to the place of being willing to receive them, they will tend to come even stronger, just like when you consciously start to remember your dreams, you suddenly can remember more than you ever had before. If we look at how Jane explained this synch. process on the Synch. forum about a month back, the key seems to be to take the synchronicity and do exactly what you have done.

Firstly, recognize it. It is out of the ordinary to see this number as many times as you have. Each time it happens that near deja vu feeling comes. Maybe because it is true -- you have been here before -- meaning what happens in the second part...

Secondly, the synch. can generally be taken straight back to an issue or a feeling that occurred long ago. It has often been triggered by a similar feeling or issue that is being grappled with in one's present life.

Thirdly, as Jane explained above, we have the chance to stop the unhealthy patterning we may have been continuing each time the 105 issue or feeling had occurred before.

I am thinking that seeing the 501 is perhaps showing that you have indeed turned this issue around. Perhaps you can leave the 105s now (yet always be aware of their impact on you), for the new messages which are possibly contained in this new 501 way of thinking. Sorry, but I keep thinking about Levi's 501 jeans...

This is really interesting T. I've just posted in the Member's Forum about a situation where I spent the week in a room that I discovered to be the exact reflection of my childhood bedroom. It feels a bit the same as you are experiencing here. That issue, perhaps of childhood fears, may now be turned around.

Then, of course, the synchronicities also go forward... But that's a whole other story that I don't understand yet!
