Hi Kaylah,
I'll start this off and I think others will add interpretations and questions for you to take it to completion:
The first part of a dream often states the theme. What is your theme? It seems to be something to do with judging how well or how badly a job is done. The judgement is "crooked and messy".
The demonstration suggests a public performance or public judgement.
Did you feel, at the time of this dream, under public scrutiny, or do you tend to scrutinise the perfection and quality of your own work?
I wonder what the shelves were going to be used for. Storage or display. What's your gut reaction here?
My guess, given the word 'demonstration' (show) is that they were for display (show), suggesting a theme of an issue or question around being on show, being under scrutiny, being judged .. either by others or by yourself.
In the next part of the dream you are invited to examine this theme more closely by being invited to her place of work. Of course this feels weird, as you are being invited to see yourself and various issues around this more closely too - perhaps in a different way.
It seems to be a reception hall (reception, receive, welcome) or a fair (fair judgement?). The question becomes, perhaps, "How do you receive judgement? Are you fair on yourself? You are welcomed in a fair atmosphere: be fair to yourself in receiving feedback ...
Enter the two men who chased you.
It is rewarding to see all characters in a dream as representing aspects of the dreamer.
Which aspects of yourself (your thoughts, feelings etc) are you running away from regarding this issue? What is it, within you, that is doing the chasing, feeling threatening, perhaps simply wanting acknowledgment or a gentle confrontation (fair welcome)?
... over to the next to continue here, or to you, Kaylah, for some feedback and thoughts so far,
