I've had a very strange experience with the number 105. First I had a dream about it, unfortunately I have lost the details of the dream. A few days later, I was in an airport watching the news, and my initials were somehow on the screen, then I look to the left of the TV, and this guy is holding a boarding pass for seat 105. Not really a big deal, just a wierd coincidence. Then, my mom comes to visit, she's in room 105. I go to a New Years party, we get seated at table 105. My girlfriend randomly picks our anniversary as "the friday after new years", turns out to be January 5th, which also happened to be the deadline for my harvard application. There have been several other appearances, a supposedly random username generator suggests "tbrown105", suddenly having the urge to check the time and clock reads 1:05. As I think back, this number has been in my life before, although I didn't recognize it. For example, my Air Force detachment in college was detachment 105. Any thoughts on this? I have no idea what this number means for me....

t,

Also have a look at parts of the 105, such as:

#

Age 10 and age 5;

#

Time as 1.05: was this ever a significant time on a regular basis such as school bell for lunch recess?;

#

Time of your birth - but you've probably thought of this;

#

Date or time of another significant event in your life or of someone close to you (such as family);

#

"One-oh-five": years 1 - 5?

#

"Ten-Five": does this have another meaning such as a code (esp in the military)?;

Notice also that:

The events you have mentioned here have associations with Beginnings and Endings:

The Beginnings or Endings are:

#

Boarding for a flight (Beginning: take-off)

#

Mother (gave birth to you: a beginning) [What was the reason for her visit - relevent?]

#

New Year: Ending and Beginning

#

Anniversary with girlfriend: End of one year, beginning of next

#

Deadline for Harvard application: ending for beginning

... The others you have mentioned include username and detachment ... both forms of id .. were these in some way associated with endings and beginnings too? (And/or is the more general meaning of the word 'detachment' significant?)

There are several major life circumstances which seem to generate more synchronicities than others. (I have written about these, and the understanding behind the observation) in "The Shape of Things to Come".

One is CHANGE which is the same as ENDINGS/BEGINNINGS.

My feeling is that during this time of 105 synchronicities you have been faced with some changes and the particular symbolism of the 105 is not only re-iterating 'death of the old and birth of the new' but also carrying a personal-association reminder of the first time the 105 ever came up in your life.

Hopefully with the kind of questions and replies you'll receive here, you'll be able to discover that first 105 occurrence and then work out what its particular significance was for you then (which event, emotion or feeling it tagged) and then look at why you are being reminded of this now.

True synchronicities begin with a dream which then manifests outwards, though many people miss the dream through lack of recall.

You've posted the same post to both the Dream Forum and the Synch Forum because of this, and with JuliA's response first up it looks like the main thread is going to occur here. However, for the sake of completion and reference (all forum discussions are archived and accessible to the community for years), I'll copy/paste my reply to the Synch Forum too.

I look forward to other people's replies and thoughts and to your thoughts and conclusions, t.

I posted in both forums accidentally. Apparently, it takes a while for a post to register. I assumed that the first post in the dream forum was lost somehow, so I posted in this forum as well.

That's okay t,

Perhaps it depends on your server, but I know some people find it takes a while for their post or reply to come up on the forums. (Sometimes people re-post so double entries appear ... I go in and delete doubled posts, so everything ends up neat.)

HOWEVER, HERE'S THE SYNCHRONICITY FOR YOU:

I replied to your reply in the Dream Forum this morning as I was looking through the forums and settling into my day at the computer .... and my reply to you came up at "10.05" .... pretty near your 105. No premeditation or even awareness of the time on the clock until I switched screens and saw the recorded time of my reply!

I was trying to test out synchronicities today. I decided that I would look for the theme of Sprite bottles. And see how many sprite bottles turned up.

I went out from my room and down the hall, and then I reminded myself, "Sprite." As soon as I said this to myself, I went through the door that leads outside and some girl came down the stair carrying a sprite bottle. Then I saw a glimpse (like half a second) of a sprite can at breakfast, the rest of the day it was Coco-cola though.

I wonder if I had been trying to see Coco-cola bottles if the girl coming down the stairs would have had a Coke instead

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.
