I opened a heavy swinging door and went outside to meet a friend whom I greeted with a hug.
Note:
I have had an endearment for doors for years. This was my first dream of a door.
Simultaneously I checked in on the Dream Gallery (this website) to find the exhibition from January 2000 (featuring doors) - a time when great heavy doors opened for me, paving the road to accomplishing a lifelong dream.
My question about the Dream Galleries is this: what does one do with the answers to the questions that follow the exhibit? For instance # 1 “You have just arrived at these doors; where have you come from?” I answered "From a long journey..". I would be interested to hear what else people answered to this set of questions and how they apply them to practical living. Would this not be in fact an example of how one takes an image in a dream and seeks to understand its meaning not only in the unconscious but in the practicality of one's life?

Hi Hope
Great question! I suppose this is where the Members Forum is great, to discuss those things. Also in a dream group, I agree its interesting to get others feedback. Dreams however are largely personal and particularly in the Gallery its like a sanctuary for me where I can browse and peruse and the answers are purely mine.
Interestingly my answer to the first question was "I'd just come through the other door"....
The red door reminded me of my finances and the yellow my relationships. I agree that others responses are could be interesting, but for me the images and questions are beautiful and thought provoking.

Hi Hope,
I agree with JuliA Being a member is very helpfull, you can see by the number of dreams and responses in the groups.
Dreaming of "doors" to me mean eather an opening or closing of opportunities in my life. I can open a door to open a new oppottunity or to open a new segment/phase in my life, or I close it like wise. The size or grandure of the door means the size or grandure your opportunity. Is this what you have been looking for??
Regards
Gunter.
PS.
Do come join our members family for a while, even if it is only for a month. When I joined I was made to feel at home and welcomed to the dream family. (Even if only for a month) Gunter. |

Thanks Gunter,
Interesting remark about the size and grandure of the door- the one I referred to in my entry was, as I said, quite heavy, a bit dangerous should it fling back at you, on the other side was a friend. You have me thinking, thanks. JuliA, that you categorized these doors I found amazing! finances and relationships..this is a perfect example of how exchanging info.. one step beyond the personal place(gallery visits) you delight in, can "open doors" for your fellow dreamers. Thanks for sharing. Any other door ideas from anyone? Hope

Hi Hope
Which one didn't you want to enter or were wary of entering? For me I had a strong reaction with one of the doors immediately until I started answering the questions and getting more of a symolistic!? view of the doors and what they represented!
I have a lot of doors closing around me at the moment, the next few months are doors closing and the end of a part of my life. I can hardly wait to see some new doors........... so many closed doors is getting me a little bit down.
Where is that door to the palace......

Hello Hope, JuliA, Gunter and Everyone,
Just an aside to endorse the value of sharing your personal answers to the Dream Gallery questions. Although I designed the Dream Gallery concept for people to work through individually, I have noticed that sharing reactions often leads to synchronicity or expands into deeper thinking and empathy. I use this method in group situations and it works well.
I'd love to see more sharing of Dream Gallery reactions and explorations on the forums as this is helpful to everyone.
As you know, I create a new Dream Gallery exhibition every two months. I'm in the middle of writing the new one now, so it will be uploaded to 'Gallery' before the end of the month. Those of you who haven't looked at the current exhibition might like to investigate it before it moves from the public web site area into the full Gallery archives over in the Members' area.
Members can always access the full (and continuously growing) Gallery and discuss reactions over in the Members' Forum. There are 26 images there to date.
Have fun!
