Cockroaches are vermin, they're also great survivors - I suppose it would depend upon what your mother-in-law thought of cockroaches! My father always used to say that if there was a nuclear war they would be the only survivors so personal symbolism here is important. But an insect/bug that big running across her face...... could it be a pun on "what is bugging her" OR is she putting on a face despite going through something?
The language thing is very interesting. Does your M-I-L know what language?
A friend of mine Chris (who is currently learning French - total beginner) was speaking in fluent French in his dream the other night. He remember a phrase he had spoken and looked it up the next day. He apparently told someone in perfect French - I want more chocolate! But he had an entire conversation in fluent french - he awoke amazed.
Does your mother-in-law's husband remember anything?
Gunter, I wonder if it was her tapping into something/someone or if it was a past life dream - her tapping into a language she used to speak?
