My new husband and I are in a grocery shop and in one aisle I am surprised to see a white bag full of babies. I picked one baby out and held it out in front of me. It was about 6-9 months old with curly hair.
I felt ok about this situation. Nobody was making a big deal out it.
This dream merges into a bag of ducklings, pure white. I surprised that they are so white. I see one that has a sort of orange red comb like a chook would have but it is not fully developed. I pick it up. I say to my husband I want to take it home but how will we manage with our dogs as we own four.
We took it home to try it out. I am then in a car with other men and women. The men start to attack us. I just knew I had to overpower the men and I did. I tied them up with the seat belts and then started swinging them outside the car sideways like on a yoyo.
The men started enjoying the experience. I and the other women felt proud of empowering ourselves and the men changing their attitude.
Next I am at the sea. I have the intent to go fishing but I see all the other little sea creatures around me that are much easier to find and catch.
I leave there and then I am moving somehow, either with a trolley or in a car, on my way back home, crossing dirt roads, over mounds and uneven surfaces. When I am just about home my neighbour runs out and says: Oh, you've been fishing. Did you experience all those little sea creatures come up to you?

Hi Husky Girl,
Welcome to the Dream Forum.
Your dream vignettes are wonderful material for our forum dreamers to get their teeth into and I'm sure they will. I'm starting the ball rolling with this comment:
The beginning of a dream often states the theme (symbolically) that the rest of the dream moves on to address.
Your dream appears to begin with taking the 6-9 month old baby out of the bag, looking at it and feeling okay about it.
Ages given in dreams often refer to time periods in our own lives. A baby of 6-9 months can symbolise something new (baby) which has been in the dreamer's life for about 6 - 9 months, or (less probably) may be taking you back to the age of 6-9 months yourself. (Such numbers can also indicate years like 1969 and other variations, but the baby symbol usually specifically relates to something new in your life.)
However the image of taking the baby out of the bag conjures up a picture of a baby being born from the womb. As babies are normally born after nine months of gestation, your dream could be drawing your attention to something which has been 'gestating' in your life for 6-9 months and is ready to be born/ to come into the open.
Have a think about what this '6-9 months' may represent in your life now. Post your answer here and we'll all help you further.
Meanwhile, everyone else: there is wonderful imagery in this dream ... what do you think and feel?

Hi Jane, Thanks for your insights. There have been a number of new things happening in my life recently - a new journalism course, a new marriage, I've just fallen pregnant, enlightenment about childhood experiences that have been blocked for so long. But I feel I am really struggling to find my place in the world. I look forward to others coming in giving me their interpretations. |

Hi HG
OK here are some thoughts. I think the section of your dream wherein you are yoyo-ing men out the window as relates to your new marriage is fantastic. It makes me think of a changing attitude on your part towards men. That at first you felt "attacked" by men and felt the need to establish control...by "games" perhaps, yoyo, mind games, on a string, on a leash, I do not know, just playing with the image. It would then seem to me (just guessing still) that as the men seem to enjoy their attachment to the women (you) your attitude towards them changes too. That your empowerment comes not from control but perhaps now from a certain relaxation, enjoyment and trust. This being manifest in your new husband in the concious world perhaps/maybe.
The sea creatures I like (gives me a vision of starfish and seahorses). Maybe something that you are searching for is actually all around you already and you do not recognize it.And someone asks you in the dream if you had seen them as well. So maybe what the creatures represent is something that seems strange to you but is really common to others. Sorry if this seems rather vague but I hope it means something more specific to you.
All in all it strikes me as a wonderfully positive dream and it sounds like you are surrounded by sea creatures of happiness. That you are feeling very positive about your pregnacy and marriage despite some normal trepidations.
I cannot wait to see this thread continue to discover how your fascinating images unfold.
Hope there is something worthy in here HG!
Jane,I feel hesitant about responding since getting SD's recent dream so terribly ass backwards but also feel compelled to contribute my thoughts and feelings. Let me know if I step too far off the path(s).
"Paths from everywhere crowd like children to the pond. Some of them are ordinary paths, which have a rail on each side, and are made by men with their coats off, but others are vagrants, wide at one spot, and at another so narrow that you can stand astride them. They are called Paths that have Made Themselves, and David did wish he couls see them doing it. (J.M.Barrie -Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens)
Cheers all, Liam |

Aside to Liam,
Your paths are perfect: it is the combination of the many paths laid in and around the dream that lead to its revelation. You are doing brilliantly - everyone is.
"It is the curved, lateral paths that reach the dream by the shortest route." (Jane Anderson, Sunday morning, strong black coffee.)
Keep replying, read the books in the members' section and watch people's replies.
See you on a path somewhere soon.
Husky Girl:
Hope the fishing is going well and that the wonders you are bringing to the surface are broadening your sense of self-wonder too.

Hi Husky Girl, I wanted to say something about the duckling in the first part of your dream. I know dream symbol meanings have a great deal to do with your own reactions and relationships to them but while researching the duck symbol I found some interesting aspects that may resonate. Ducks are positive lovely birds. They float on water which suggests ease, relaxation. Ducks navigate instinctively and adapt to being on land and in water. They swim, walk, fly. This is tremendous. Your duckling is only just starting off, to grow and develop all these skills. Could it be that this dream symbol represents your starting to develop or gain some ease in navigating through life now and developing an ability to adapt in a more relaxed way now to life's different conditions?? Just some thoughts - chloe |

I was free-associating ducks- getting all your ducks in a row. Taking "home" or claiming something you've been "ducking". Perhaps something that happened to you when you were very young (6-9?)
Those little creatures at the sea are often found in tide pools- left behind by the ocean. Fits in well with the "claiming" theme, gathering all those little creatures that were left behind by an ocean of emotion.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your contributions. Liam, I think you are pretty spot on about the men and the "games". Those little sea creatures seemed to distract me from "fishing" somewhere else. They really drew my attention away and I focused on them. Lynn, when those little creatures are left behind by the tide they're the things we marvel at aren't they? When we go exploring and find these things on the beach we think it's great and wonderful. |
