Subject: Sunny Lawn & Red Wine |
Favonuis (Liam) |
15:25 16/05/2000 |
I am on a sunny and hot lawn in front of an inn looking for a spot to stick in my umbrella so that I can come back with a chair and relax in the shade. I work at the inn.
I reach the top of the stairs inside the inn. All 'sun patterns and antiques' is the feel of the place.
At the top of the stairs on a table is an elaborate set up of wine glasses and carafes and bottles. But a glass of red wine has fallen off the table, spilled and broken on the floor. I had a memory of having been there when the glasses were all fine.
I come out the front door of the inn back onto the front lawn. Originally I had come from around the back.
Anyhow, there seems to be a cocktail party going on. Present is a young woman* (see note) wearing a huge fur and getting chirped over by two silly ninny Barbie doll types.
Note:
* I have begun to have a romantic interest in this woman in real life, against better judgement. She does not know of my interest. She would never wear fur. She is rather punk. She wouldn’t care for Barbie types.

Liam - forgive me if I steer you wrong - but I had some ideas here to play with. On the front lawn (the public place - right out there for everyone to see) you are hot and looking for some coverage so you head inside - there you find some breakage, wine spilt brings up the image of blood - then heart - broken.. you remember when all was intact. Instead of dallying there IN - you head OUT for the public place again, you - in the image/reflection of this "new woman" are more public than ever - pulling attention towards you with fur! You (in this woman) are annoyed by the attention you are getting from these barby like creatures. "Don't they see it is all a show" Fur is a pretty hefty outer skin - must be pretty cold OUT there. You think you work at the IN/N..maybe there's alot more work going on in the OUT. love,sd |

Wow! Spendid. Thank you SD. (I can sense you, here posting at the same time)
Following night-Scene 4) I am driving across Canada. The aforementioned young woman is at the same time hitchhiking across Canada. We meet outside a gas station. It is snowing hard. It occurs to us that she could come with me in my car. As we load her bags into the car we find snow inside it. I discover the driver side window keeps slipping down inside the door panel.

This may sound silly but I immediately saw the masculine aspect - the outgoing, go get em guy aspect in charge(driving the car) couldn't help seeing the feminine aspects (the quieter, somewhat darker but more investigating of the real feelings) limping in the snow, trying to get a handle on Canada. You meet at a place where there is "fuel" sort of like "food" for the car, no? this is the thing you need to go further, the fuel of joining forces.. it occurs to you both that it is time to let her on board(with the baggage that comes with this merge), i.e. pay attention to the "IN/N" stuff a wee bit more.(check out what the feminine aspects are more with a real expert) Finding snow inside? Don't know what to think about that but maybe still a bit frozen about how to move forward with this little meeting. The driver side - that is the "in charge" side (the left in the country you live in now) is about the left brain side stuff (gotta ask Jane about this - she talks about this side thing in her book - interpertation of dreams) slipping.. or maybe it is better to focus on the window - the looking out is not hindered by the glass anymore.. don't know - but we're having fun, aren't we? You were just in Canada, Angela is there - maybe this connects, Angela has triggered a little movement in the merging of your aspects that were probably ripe for this just now. End of idea. I'd really like to know what the special of the day was at the restaurant today...indulge me. |

Hi Liam and Sd.
This seems to be really coming together. I don't know if I'll be much help after Sd's very intensive and insightful look. But I'll give it a stab anyway. There were a couple things I noticed and I find reiterations can be helpful sometimes.
1) Your reference to sunshine and shade -- light and shadow? You wanted to come back and rest in the shade. Didn't Jane just say yesterday, re the ursula painting (makes me think of umbrella...canopy), that the light is more apparent with the shadows, or something like that? So perhaps the first scene is indicating that you are looking in the right place for peace or relaxation... In/Inn. I have to agree with Sd one hundred percent there.
2) 'Sun patterns and antiques' -- interesting choice of words. Perhaps 'old' 'patterning'...? Wine glasses are very common in my dreams -- must go with the industry -- and I find they often show up when I am ready to see things differently -- through Glasses (or maybe corrective vision). The fact that one glass broke, may be significant to the breaking of a pattern. Seeing in your memory that they had been fine before -- I'll agree with Sd in the remembering when things were intact.
3) Sd's got that one, I'd say! Fur -- showing a particular part of yourself off, this part that you are attracted to but makes you question yourself at the same time. People not seeing you for who you are.
4) Yes, I'm with Sd again. The masculine/feminine aspects merging along with all the baggage that includes. Some frozen emotions on route. Fuel/food.
And you might note that the window or 'glass' is slipping inside (in again).
I hope you don't mind if I add a small part of my dream the night before last, yours reminded me of this one instantly: '...as I went to get in the car there were bits of snow and ice around it. I was in bare feet. The mechanic said the only thing wrong with my car was the driver's door...'
I hope this adds a bit for you as well.

Dear SD and Angela,
You two now know me better than anybody else does. That scares me a little. There must be a dozen points you made that are bang on and other points you do not even know you made.
1) The image of SD of first blood and than a broken heart is so much more specific than just a broken heart.
2) Instaed of "dallying within" as you put it...I had thought I would remain within myself for a long time but this new interest of mine has suprised (and concerned) me.I have come back "outside" more quickly than planned.
3)"Don't they see it's all for show". I have become the master of putting on a happy face, esp in the workplace and you are correct SD, it annoys me that everyone except "new woman" (OK...to make it easier her name is Julie) is fooled by it.
4)Here is where it becomes a wee bit spooky."I couldn't help seeing her feminine aspect limping along in the snow"...Julie has been walking with a limp the past month.
5) I am frozen in how to move forward as well as still a touch frozen within myself.
6)"It is time to let her on board with all the baggage that includes" says SD. Well, there is a lot of baggage here, including her 2 year old son and a lifetime of serious abuse. I know you have been saying that the dream is about aspects of myself but I had to tell you all these parallels. 7) Angela, "old patterning" is right on. I was so proud of that as a clever descriptor I missed the obvious implication. Brilliant! As for the pattern breaking along with the wine glass, I can only hope.
8) Again correct Angela. People do not see me for who I am. Perhaps never have. The fur however seems not to be something I would show off (for I find them vulgar) But maybe a part of my outer self that I find vulgar?
Whew! It all is so crystal when you present it back to me SD and Angela. Thank you so very much.
Tonigts special SD:hazelnut crusted salmon with a caramelized orange butter sauce, wild rice and apple salad and fresh fresh steamed asparagus.
And I still reside in Canada SD. In Toronto. And I still drive on the right hand side of the road...most of the time.
Angela, it seems your ice and snow are outside of the car and almost melted. Bully for you! |

Liam - ohh, did you have a physical heart break i.e. attack? Is outside aspect of the fur, indeed displeasure with your appearance? Two year olds can love a new "father figure" with great depth, that's the upside of that baggage. Yesterday we had salmon and wild rice for dinner in my house(I don't know how to make orange butter sauce and(woe) asparagus is out of season. indeed, peeled apples before bed. Why is Julie limping suddenly??? LOVE sd |

Awoke suddenly in the middle of the wee morning hours and had to feed my dream site addiction.
No heart attack of the physical type-purely emotional.
My appearance is fine - maybe more the general facade I offer to the public is the issue.
Her two year old boy is awe inspiring. It was seeing Julie with him that finally "got" to me. I did not mean he, per se, is baggage. He is more like a bonus.
Julie is limping from a bicycle mishap. Nothing too terrible, just unfortunate.
Funny coincidence about the salmon and wild rice. I am sure SOME things are just coincidence.HA
Back to my lovely bed now. Thank you both so so much. I feel lighter heading into tomorrow.
Cheers, Liam |

Hi Liam. As you found that info considering my dream I decided to to have a bash at interpreting yours but through reading I realise that Dream interpretation is just not my thing. Cos just when I come to a firm conclusion the next line totally squashes it (If you get what I mean) Anyway I will continue to tackle your lovely dream and continue to wonder what other strange things have you in your head! |

It can be everybodies thing Kristy...should be! But you must embrace the mystery, paradox and contradiction without always demanding a logical conclusion for yourself.
