Subject: Spider Flying Over Child

My four-year-old daughter was lying on her tummy complaining about going to bed.

My husband was at first sweet as he sat next to her.

From my position I could see her spine under her skin but it was like a long piece of plastic with a T on top for the shoulders.

My husband then became forceful and shook her and talked roughly, telling her she should be asleep already.

Next I knew a hairy, ugly spider was flying above her in a straight line from her spine to her head, not touching her. She didn't see it but man was it big and disgusting!

I woke up very freaked out because, in the dream, I honestly didn't know how to handle it!

Hi, SD I checked the dream gallery to brush up on spiders. Typically feminine power/intuition. Any personal connections for you? She appears when the male/yang side becomes frustrated that the sleeping/unconcious state isn't achieved. He tries to force her into it. Obviously you can't shake someone asleep! The spider moves up from the spinal/support/backbone to the head/mind area. Interesting...

Thanks Dianen! I really should reread the spider info I have! male/public side tries to force sleep upon the organism. the daughter i dreamed of almost always represents my childhood me; I lost her once, ran along a sanded road to find her (the father was supposed to be watching her), hysterical. I killed her once in a very difficult dream where she lay writhing in a hallway. I had no weapon in the dream but knew it was me and then called someone to let "them" in almost referring to the troops. This child in waking life is most like me in nature and in looks and I see in her what I could have been lest I'd had a less neurotic upbringing..intuition/mindl/is her support/spine? i.e. my support in Hebrew the meaning of this word also means "having guts" as in spineless means-cowardice. Look to the mind (movement from spine to head of spider) for strength. move from intuitive body speaking (I get body messages for precogs like tingling,stomach talking etc..) maybe move from this sort of cognitive to logical-thinking-planning intuition???? still fishing. ths sd My eyes saw the T of her spine, wonder if the letter has any connection as letters for me usually do...

And then there was the part about the spine being plastic. I had a dream about plastic in my food. Rick helped me place it as false/fake nourishment. Any thoughts on "artificial" support? If the spider is a yin character maybe she is there to heal/solidify/make real the support system? Make it connect with the head? Healer to me is always female. Any progress on connecting with the T? Diane

No T connection. i think you hit on something D. and that perhaps this dream is indeed about solidifying the way in which I deal.. I have for some time now realized that the emotions have been the support of me and they have well, done me in, now rationale must step in to take control. This does not mean letting go of the wild intuitions I have, only switching to a heavier emphasis on the signs I get from my mind. Think this makes sense? I have not referred to Jane's book for help with this dream, now I will. Thanks for discussing this with me! Just thought about the male symbol here again - my public side is quite interested in getting me back to sleep, to stop making waves my husband is unfortunately always a symbol for "judgement,confrontation and cognitive frustration" in my dreams, I wonder where this fits in... love, sd

Hi Sd and Diane.

This dream has been on my mind for days. But of course, so have horses and page numbers and unforunately, they've taken most of my time and energy...

Now, what we have learned of spiders from this forum is about their possible leanings to represent intuition (as you mentioned Diane), their connection to creativity (writing?), and their weaving of webs. You are an absolute web-weaver my friend. Your expression on these forums often comes out in swirls of threads, sticking to one or another of us, and leaving trails of strands in search of sunlight. I wonder that you end up getting lost amongst your own webbing at times.

So, for the dream: When I get a shiver (and I've had a lot of them lately!) it generally runs straight up my spine and into the back of my head. And I get those shivers when something is dawning, when I am coming into the 'know'.

Of course it is frightening! It is ugly and terrifying to know all the muck and dirt of your life, to just know how close it hovers over that vulnerable little girl inside you. And how are you going to handle it?

You are seeing yourself being shaken or bullied into into sleep (submission?). And yet the slightest touch of intuition, the hair from a spider's leg, could catapult you into terror...

The 'T' thing could have literal meaning. It could also have connections to what has quite suddenly come up on the Member's forum with the 'T' in the middle... And Julia mentioned it yesterday as she posted to Shalie21 that she had described something 'to a T'...

Could it be a junction? A place where a decision must be made? A dead end for the direction in which you have been going?

Ohhhhh, Angela. Of course, the shiver you get when the dream/synch/knowledge is sooo intense, it rides you up the spine. I had to stop for a minute, the" shaking into submission thought" made me feel sort of sick... sleeping for sixteen years, I was much easier to control, wasn't I? These intuitive dreams, inklings, sometimes indeed, they are "hairy" to work through.Notice too that what scared me was not knowing what to do..this is indeed when depression sets in - I don't like the loss of control of fatigue either, when I feel less adequate to keep a watchful eye on my children so they are not hurt. My house is located at the "head" of a T - a dead end that Ts off. Weird thing is that I found out a couple of months ago that the guy's name (of the street) is of a very famous (dead) writer - and the dead end street that Ts into it at my house is also that of a writer called Mendele Sells Books. Isn't that weird? Absolutely no connection.. I'm blabbering..except for the possibility of ..moving..one or the other of us..getting out of the T, pushing this,pushing this.. I'm going to check out the Ts you mentioned.

AH Great! The dead end road that Ts off... Originally your home being that of a writer...

All your references to hair (member's forum) these days seems to point attention to this 'hairyness' you appear to be experiencing of late. In a little aside, I saw a woman at the restaurant last night with her hair in a seemingly childish small pony tail on the top of her head. It made me think of you and your twirlings.

Pay attention to the spider...

I think it's so interesting that I keep reading dreams here that have so many similar images to the dreams that I am having or have had. I read this dream and then had a dream that started out with a similar theme in which my mother and I were trying to put my cousin's little boy to bed. (He is 2 years old). In the dream I had opted to force him to go to sleep and not care about his feelings. I just thought that this is very interesting. Perhaps you might even gather something from this piece of my dream that might spur a memory or something else that you are going through.

Of course - making someone submit - not only is this about control but about the lack of considering the other one's feelings..submission inevitably dissolves the free will of the person being controlled..no wonder people like this(me) fall asleep (metaphysically)..I have been under the control of extreme narcisstics since age one..I wonder if that would deaden Left Hand Brain activity(Jane did a wonderful interpertation for me in which this subject was brought up) I must connect this to a new thread, Shalie21(look , a name with a number.. why 21?
