Subject: Nicole Kidman and the Wedding Dress.....

JuliA

17:46 10/04/2000

Nicole Kidman is in a lecture theatre talking to a group of culturally and religiously sensitive people. I know this because they think what she is wearing is inappropriate and she should at least cover her shoulders.

The dress she is wearing is the gold Christian Dior dress she wore to this year’s Oscars.

As she addresses the group she places her hand over her décolletage and, in particular, over the top of her left breast.

She's very comfortable speaking to this group of people but they're not even listening to what she's saying. Rather they're intent on the appropriateness of her dress!

Note:

My other dream that night seems related:

I'm in the back streets of Paris (very Monte Matre, cobbled Streets, steep incline) and there is a bridal shop to my right. The owner of the shop wanted me to wear a dress that wasn't me at all: puffy sleeves, fishtail, lace and long sleeves!

I must say the dress fitted beautifully and it did look good. It just wasn't me. I decided to go for something simple, elegant and altogether princess like. I decided this is the dress I liked and I knew my boyfriend would like it too, so I put a deposit on it! The dress I chose was off-white floor length gown with stunning flawless fabric with a very low V-neck which my boyfriend would love.

Both dreams have a symbol of France and concern exposing the breasts.

Sorry I should explain that Christian Dior is a french fashion house - so Paris appears in both dreams!

Hi Julia.

This won't be much help, but I just had to jump in here and tell you that I just finished recording a dream I had this morning where there was a bridal party in gold and pink, standing on a windy ledge. The gowns were all puffy just like your #2 dream image. Their hair was blowing all over the place. Just thought it interesting.

I did note the 'Christian' Dior/'religiously sensitive' connection in your dream.

And 'Kidman' -- that seems to be a play on words all by itself.

1) Maybe a theme of 'expression' and confidence? Yet maybe it is also something you are battling with yourself -- worrying about how something appears rather than what is really meant?

2) This one seems to be centered around choices. There is a clarity about what you want.

And isn't the fish (fishtail) the 'Christian' religion sign? Would that not bring religion as well as Paris into both dreams? Is there something clicking there Julia?

Angela.

Ooooh Angela - you're a gem I missed the 'Christian'/ religiously sensitive connection - that does make sense and I'm trying to work out how it fits into this dream.

I should be shot for missing the connection but my boyfriend lives in "Kidman" Street, I suppose I don't think of it because its not my address (even though 4-5 nights out of 7 it is).

Perhaps I'm hiding a 'spiritual' aspect of myself when I'm here?

Bravo on the fishtail too!

I suppose there is clarity about what I want, but I suppose my only deficiet is a certain over worrying and sensitivity on my boyfriends part (if this dream is portending to that).

I would also summise, now having read your thoughts, that he is a Christian whereas I'm more spiritual and esoteric in my beliefs and values.

From your statement "worrying about how something appears rather than what is really mean?" - my boyfriend is quite different from me (on face value) but we are very similar.

Thanks so much for your thoughts Angela!

Julia, what stood out for me was that in the first dream Nicole was fashionably put together and felt comfortable talking to this group. But she hid her left (close to the heart) breast from the audience and was misunderstood. Her appearance became more important than the message. Remember Jane's adage that all dream people are aspects of yourself. The audience may have responded better if the message were more heartfelt? The second dream is different. You reject the shopkeeper's choice for a dress that you and your boyfriend love. I feel you would wear it comfortably, cleavage(I don't want to try to spell the other word) and all. No need to hide one side. If you relate the second dream back to the first, then the "shopkeeper" would be Christian Dior himself. You have better taste. Just my rambling...

For whoever is reading this. I find this is a wonderful example of the fine art of interperting(several layers of it in fact) and where we can go with a little help from our friends- how the targeted,logical/intuitive interweaving of thoughts can be so effective especially when playing ping/pong with equal partners. Ladies, thank you. sd

what about kid(child) - man. What do you mean "a sense of over worrying and sensitivity on your boyfriend's part"?

Thanks Diane - what you said made a lot of sense. There is a lot of issues around me at the moment where am aware I am hiding a more soul-centred part of myself. I know I'm also trying to hide my feelings and emotions at the moment. I'm aware of some issues in my life and also planetary influences (the Taurus alignment for all you astrologers) which is asking me to get grounded.

I feel personally and professionally at the moment I'm not being heard (and some days feel invisible; which is funny because taurus is earth and tangible matter yet a tonne of people I know are feeling invisible!!!)

So if I understand part of the dreams message, if I cover up at the moment and dress (appear) as the wedding dress I chose, simple and elegant - I can be heard..... and seen.

It was a great dream and still incredibly vivid.
