"Balloons"

Author

Subject: Balloons

Christina

I think today I may have experienced synchronicity. Last night I saw some balloons at a festival launch, bearing lanterns into the air that stated the phrase 'save our forests'. Overnight I dreamed of hiding from a friend in a broom cupboard, with balloons. Then today I saw balloons in 5 different locations. 1st was at a forest rally, 2nd was on some lamp posts in town (on the route into town from my old house), 3rd was while on tour (randomly on some posts by the road), 4th set of balloons were being held by two people outside a pub as I left town to come home and the fifth balloon sighting was two little balloons tied to a street signpost around the corner from my house......

Any ideas????? I'm lost.

Hi Christina,

I would say yes that you have had a synchronicity. Better to not hide from your dream friend and come out of the closet with your baloons, being joyful, celebratory, and open.

Interesting that the brooms may have been made from trees, connected to saving forests? Then later you see a forest rally with baloons.

Hi Christina,

Were the balloons in the closet inflated?

Synchronicities can occur when new ideas or understandings are moving from the unconscious into consciousness.

You can then interpret the outer world symbolism as well to get a grasp on what is emerging for you.

Balloons can represent quite a few things and I am sure you can tap into this yourself i.e. soaring to new personal heights, celebration, at the mercy of the winds of change, showing the way to a party, and also balloons are a way to display messages to many people by floating them through the air above, and so on. They certainly get our attention!

Also, the 'save the forests' appeal may have energised thoughts that are in conflict. For example, I use wood to live, my furniture, the frame of my house, my broomsticks..." And I want to save the forest as well?

Oobe - The next night I dreamed that I was lying on the grass, in the open and holding hands with my dream friend... Far from hiding from him, i was clinging to him

Beth - the balloons were inflated when I was in the closet. I am now wondering whether the balloons were linked to my latest lucid dream (see the member's board). Definitely personal heights seems to be an issue at the moment. I was also thinking about the nature of balloons.. They are something we have to tie down to stop them from floating away. We are grounding them. From my dream of the graveyard (so grounded that you're buried) to my balloons and then learning to fly. Hmmmm. Also the fact that the balloons would not be there unless they had a link to the ground. Being here for me is about sometimes feeling trapped, but knowing that ultimately I want to be here. I am linked to the Earth on the Forestry Issues I feel strongly about and this place that I love - the things that stop me from floating away.

Hmmmm. Ramble, ramble.

Christina.

As you were the balloons, then they may be your own symbols for floating up gently, like the swimming approach you mentioned in the other post. Also, if you take off like a rocket, they would get burn't and burst in your exhaust wake????

Sounds romantic, on the grass with your friend. The moon is a balloon!!

cheers,

Beth

Hi Christina,

How about, once you make a full commitment to life on earth, in all its darkness and light, accepting what is - is true grounding of the spirit and acceptance of the journey it has chosen to take - at this point, when we accept its deep 'gravity' (grave), only then can really FLY, and celebrate life!

I think all of the foregoing may be one big typian slip.

Love and Light, Beth.

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.

is immensely enriching."
