Subject: snow,sand,shell......

I was with my aunt who is a medium. We were sitting at a table, and I’m sure there were letters (as in letters from the alphabet) over the table.

Then I was on my own in a big house. It was like a maze and I couldn’t find my way out. Every room I went into had people in it. From what I can remember the whole inside of the house was white, maybe a little futuristic.

I pulled out my mobile phone but it was locked and I couldn’t unlock it.

Next I’m outside on a massive balcony and there was about 3-4 foot of snow. My friend’s dad had buried himself face up in it, but his face was uncovered. He seemed to be there for a long time, and I remember thinking that he will freeze to death.

Then I went outside (from my friend’s house) and, for a joke, I started to sprinkle snow onto his face so that he was covered up. When I went back into the house my friend brought over a cheese sandwich but she wanted me to spit on it. I felt uncomfortable doing this, but I did. I think I spat on it twice, before she started to tuck in.

Now, the same friend (Nina) and I are on a beach and the water is clear. We can see lots of coral under the water. Then Nina went further up. I think she was standing ankle deep in the water near a big rock. She picked something up and I worked out that it was one of those big shells you hold to your ear to listen to the sea. I started walking towards her to get a better look. I wanted her to give me the shell.

Somewhere in the dream I was outside but I was naked and I felt very uncomfortable as there were a few men near me standing by a car. I saw a pair of bottoms and a top so I grabbed them and put them on.

Hi Rachel,

I'll start this one off and I'm sure others will follow with more.

The phone theme seems to be that you can't get through - communication is locked. Yet you're not sure that you do want to phone. So - have a think about why there might be a feeling of needing to communicate something breaking through from your unconscious but, as yet, something you're only vaguely consciously aware of.

Now - the major part of your dream includes two sets of symbols:

Symbols of hiding or covering up (snow, shells, trousers ...)

Symbols of feeling exposed: naked, the medium (can see through you?) ...

It's often useful to look through a dream to find two opposites of the same theme: in this case, exposed and covering up.

Putting this together with your phone theme it may be time to have a think about where, in your life, you struggle with feeling exposed (vulnerable?) or uncomfortable with people seeing the real you (symbolised by nakedness in your dream) and feeling a need to hide or cover up. Your phone theme suggests a shall-I/shan't I talk about this .. bring it out into the open ... feeling.
