Subject: The Horse

Sarah

13:01 22/02/2000

I was inside my house, mounted on a beautiful, fiery-red Arabian horse.

My family was in the kitchen setting up dinner. I think they were having a dinner celebrating my engagement* (see note).

I rode out the front door and was going at a slow pace down the street, when my horse suddenly broke into a fast trot.

I was surprised, and then the horse spoke to me telepathically, saying, "I'm sorry, it's the cappuccino kick." I kept on riding and we went around the neighborhood.

I then morphed into my fiancé. I thought I was still the same person, but I wasn't.

Then my fiancée's brother was riding alongside me, getting upset that I was riding so fast. He was holding a loaf of bread and told me that he thought I shouldn't get married to "me," and cursed the marriage. He pulled a piece of the crust off and threw the loaf on the ground.

I then rode my horse into my garage and went to eat dinner: I transformed back into myself, and my fiancé was at the table.

Note:

* I'm single in real life.

I forgot to mention that this is the second dream I've had where I was riding this red Arabian horse. Both dreams I woke up with a stiff feeling in my legs and a sore lower back. I know that I hadn't done anything strenous activity prior to the dream which might have caused the soreness.

Hi Sarah

Great dream!

Firstly can I ask, is anything 'engaging' you at the moment or a project/situation you've just committed yourself to in some way. Horses mean different things, but your horse is very specific....... a red arabian horse. Do you have any special association with arabian horses - the first thing I thought of was "Arabian Knights!?". But nonetheless your horse conjurs up a very powerful image - mainly because Arabian Horses are very noble and very powerful creatures but the colour red intensified the power this horse has!

Your family being in the kitchen - your support, nurturing - have you been given any "new food for thought" recently!? I wonder what the new 'engagement' is in your waking life - spiritual, professional, emotional?

You rode out the front door - so you're certainly not afraid of what people think or how they see you! Nevertheless, you appear to be approaching this situation at a slow pace - but your horse (power?) thinks differently. Can you see somewhere in your life where you are holding back, being reluctant but your "horse" appears to be running away with you?

The "cappucino kick" made me laugh, very funny!!!!

You say, "you then morphed into your fiance" - from your dream, what do you remember about him? could you see him or can you describe him? I wonder what the 'male' aspect off this person could possibly help you with at the moment. There are a lot of strong masculine images - the fiance, the red arabian horse, the brother of the fiance!

Mmm the brother holding a loaf off bread - its very basic food, "bringing home the bread"? Do you think he was jealous? or do you have any specific feelings or images about this brother?

He pulled off the crust and throws the loaf on the ground - almost cutting off his nose to spite his face!? mmm not quite sure about this - will give some more thought - can hardly wait to read other comments!

Its funny you parked your horse like a car "in the garage"!

A very powerful dream Sarah - I can hardly wait to see what comes out of this.........

Having said that - I just read the second bit - I know you can get stiff legs and sore lower back from riding - but lower back stuff can also be about support, or rather a lack of - does this fit any where in your life at the moment.........

I really have nothing "engaging" me at the moment...the biggest thing on my list of things to do is an upcoming test in my astronomy class(which I'm definantly not worried about). About the horse...Arabian horses are my favorites, and I usually dislike the color red, but I found it was particularly beautiful on this horse. Also, I think I should mention that this horse has appeared in several dreams recently.

I really can't think of anything my family has given me to think of, other than where to go for graduate school...I've been looking into a few things, taking a few trips, but I'm not really into anything serious.

About the "holding back" part...I used to be extremely shy, and I've come out of my "shell," and I have started being more open to people I meet. However, I am still kind of shy, and I'm not to the point where I can just jump in and make friends instantly...could this be represented in my dream?

I never saw my fiancee, and I didn't see myself change into him, either. It was like, I just was him. Same on the inside, different on the outside. At the end of the dream, I went inside to the kitchen and saw him at the table, and he was a very attractive young man, the kind I would be interested in. I remember that he had dark brown hair, which I'm quite fond of...

I know that the brother was definantly not jealous. I really don't know why he didn't want us to get married. I remember what he looked like...he was older, with long, blonde hair, and a mustache(which I really hate). He also "parked" his horse in the garage with mine, but he didn't go in; he just sat there, still angry, and still holding the crust of the bread.

Thanks for the thought! I hope these details and things help.
