Subject: Alien visit

western time

22:37 19/02/2000

I was back at my childhood home. I walked out the back door and then to the side of the house which was a secluded side. I was admiring the view and, although it seemed daylight, when I looked up the stars were shining.

One star in particular took my eye, and the more I looked at it the more I got a sense that it wasn't just a star. It had a penetrating effect on me. I felt a certain heat being directed to me from it.

I rushed inside to gather up my three children. I felt a sense of urgency about this. (They are all young adults now but in the dream they are very young children.) Strangely enough, I took them out to where I experienced this alien-like light, to where I experienced this fear of an unknown power.

The star began to repeat the same effect on me only this time the light grew intense and the glow filled the night air much like the light that you see when a car’s headlights are glaring into a foggy night.

I gathered my children close to me, cradling the youngest in my arms. I looked into my youngest child’s eyes only to discover that his eyes were gone! "They" had taken them! This signalled to me that yes, this was an alien visit even though there were no visible signs other than the light and heat.

I cuddled them all closer, kissing one of them and saying that I didn't know what was going to happen but whatever does happen I will be there with them. This is all I could reassure them of, as I had no idea what might be in store. I looked back at my youngest child’s eyes, only to find they had been put back. This relieved me, but the event was not over as the light was still there.

Hi Western Time,

A long and powerful dream which I'm sure others will look at in more detail. I just want to offer a couple of starting points for your contemplation:

Alien dreams often symbolise getting in touch with a part of yourself which has been 'alienated' or detached in some sense. I like the fact that you saw this energy as a star - which 'took your eye' ... then later you looked at your youngest child to find it had taken his eye(s) too!!! What a spectacular dream pun!! Brilliant.

The star gave you a feeling of fear of an unknown power .. yet despite the fear you took your children back to face it. The unknown power is your own - your 'star quality' - which you have perhaps pushed away (alienated) in the past, or which perhaps you feel you are only encountering for this first time and it all seems so odd that it must be 'alien'.

Wonderful: you faced the fear.

The lost eyes (lost I's ??) were both a pun on 'took my eye' as well as reflecting, I feel, that your new encounter with this powerful part of yourself is likely to be transformational (taking your I, making you see differently after a period of not seeing perhaps - and yet restoring it in a different way maybe.) What restored the eyes was, according to the dream, the reassurance that although everything seemed unknown, you would remain with the process.

This, then, is your unconscious message: stay with the process ... absorb and integrate with your new light (star performer in some sense?) and reassure yourself that all will be well.

There's much more in this dream .. who's next to add more insights, clues and questions?
