Hi Laura,
You have had one of those universal dreams that never fails to disturb us. I have that one. Just had it two weeks ago in fact. And I find it often stays with me for days.
If you look at some old pictures of yourself when you were five years old you might notice a couple gaps in your grin. That was a time that your teeth actually did fall out one by one.
Jane has responded to previous postings on these types of dreams. She says that teeth usually represent a set of core beliefs. Of course she also mentions that everyone has their own symbolism and teeth may have a very personal meaning for you, which would wipe out the entire universal theory... But assuming that is not the case, it is more likely that there are some major changes going on for you.
I like to match this dream to the 'five year old' analogy, because that is the year we head to school, begin our first steps to becoming our independent selves and become social beings. Suddenly we must look at the world in a whole new way.
The feeling you had in the dream is important too. Were you horrified? Were you calm? Were you frantically trying to tell your mother and she didn't seem to care? That last one happens to me -- which I suspect is myself not willing to come to my own rescue, ignoring the changes.
In one last thing, the fact that teeth are in your mouth is also important -- the mouth being a communicating tool. Troubles communicating?
So, Laura, I hope that is some help for you. Do let us know how things go.
