Subject: Recurring Dream

I was in a forest next to a large, old house. There was a big snake lying on the ground, with its body twisted around throughout the woods.

The snake had two heads: one was alive, staring at me, and the second was on its tail and it was dead, with no eyes.

My dog was running around in these woods, and I wanted her to get inside so the snake wouldn't attack her.

I would chase her through the woods, and the snake would chase up, and we'd end up in the same place. That's where the dream stopped on the first night.

On the second night I had this exact same dream but after we had gone through the normal routine the snake quickly slithered up to me, bit my ankles, and then attacked my dog. She tried to defend herself, but was helpless.

I have had a recurring dream over a period of five years. The dream is never the same but the topic is consistent. In the beginning the dream was about a very young child who was in my care. Over time as the dreams progressed the child became a baby, a very small baby, a baby so small I could hold it in the palm of my hand. In these dreams I feel great compassion for the baby and want to take good care of it. In the most recent of these dreams, I'm in a hospital where babies are being born so rapidly that the nurses are unable to take immediate care of them. Instead, they put them temporarily into a bathtub. I come along and, realizing that something has to be done to keep the babies from sliding down on top of one another, I try to prop them up so that they are sitting upright around the sides of the bathtub.
