I was a passenger in a car with a girl of about 7 or 8 driving me. She was my niece and whilst I knew she hadn't driven before, I felt happy and calm about it all. She wobbled a bit but drove fairly well all up. I got a bit nervous at her turning a corner but all was well. I did feel a bit concerned about her parents finding out because they would be furious.

Hi Janelle.

Thanks for your thoughts on my dream. I didn't think of the 'pun'. Bringing the flame/inspiration back to 'my' stove was an important addition. And I am very much in 'awe'. So it does seem to make sense. Thanks again.

Now to your dream: It sounds like you have a fair bit of knowledge about your own symbolism, but I'll throw some things out there anyway. Firstly, a couple questions about how you feel about your niece. Does she make you feel proud? Remind you of you? I would guess that there is something of a 7 or 8 yr. old little girl in you who felt hurt? mistrusted? (at some point) or had carried a lot of responsiblitiy as a child. Something has triggered that feeling in you at present. You actually feel fairly confident with her -- 'all was well' even when she turned the corner -- allowing the vulnerability and inexperience to drive you through this time. This could be a good thing or maybe not due to the nerves and concern you felt. But it also seems that there is that 'guilt' (parental) factor that is causing you a bit of concern.

Do you trust yourself right now? Are things being expected of you beyond your experience that are causing you some nervousness and concern?

Good luck as you think through your dream. Angela

Hi Janelle and Angela!

In addition to Angela's excellent input, Janelle, here's a little more to consider:

As the child driver was aged 7 - 8, this can also refer to a part of yourself or your life which has been growing for about 7 - 8 years. So, one possibility is that the dream refers to a 7 - 8 year old project/relationship/attitude which is currently in the driving seat of your life.

Alternatively it may be that your life at the time of the dream was being driven by a part of yourself or an attitude that came into being around the time you were 7 - 8 years old.

Consider also the fact that you felt calm about the girl's driving skills. Yur concern was more for her parents' reactions. So you might like to ask yourself whether you are currently in conflict over the driving forces in your life: are you still being driven by parental expectations? Or are you the parent of your 7 - 8 year old job/relationship/goal, nervously but needlessly worrying about the competent driver?

Which corner have you turned recently in your life, and how well did you manage it?

Add these questions and thoughts to your contemplations ...

Blessings to you. Jane Anderson
