Subject: Flaming Photo

I sent a very close friend of mine a photo of me for his birthday. He said it was a nice photo and thanked me for sending it.

Then, for my birthday, he sent me a video. I was watching it and I was shocked to see that he had the photo that I sent him and, right before my eyes, he was setting fire to it.

I was watching my photo go up in flames and he said, "I hope you burn in hell".

Note:

This guy is a very special friend and even he said he felt 'weird' when I told him about it. I was shaken by this dream.

Hi Sarky

I don't know your friend, so firstly I'd ask...... describe your friend to me; tell me about 4-5 things about him (personality, charateristics, significant life events for him at the moment). Do this first before going on any further.

Then looking back over this list - are any of those events or characterists prevalent in your life at the moment. How are those things playing in your life at the moment? if none of them are do you need to integrate them into your life somehow? Sending the photo of him - how did you look in this photo? happy/ sad, was it a picture of a special event; why did you send him that particular photo (if you can recall what it looked like).

Perhaps your friend in the dream is an aspect of yourself and you were sending an "image" or "mirror" to that part of you (represented by him!!) that needed to remember that aspect of yourself....

Now the "image" is more animated and needs to be highlighted with words because he send you a video for your birthday - the "image of you" is now multi-dimensional, with sound!

Perhaps the part of you represented by your friend is trying to tell you something (obviouslY!) by saying "burn in hell". Incidentally does that phrase hold any special meaning for you; ie religious or whatever?

Is the friend (part of you) sending the video trying to punish you? if so what for? do you feel punished or let down in some aspect of your life at the moment?

Just some thoughts. I hope you can pull the dream apart and find out your meanings of your 'friend', the photo, and the phrase..... let us know

What I get overall is that he is a good person you thought you could trust who betrayed you. Do you feel you are in some way betraying/deceiving yourself right now? Somehow harming your image (picture) of yourself?

Don't worry, this probably has nothing to do with your actual friend or bad feelings toward him in waking life. He just represents some part of you, some masculine part.

I agree with Lynn in that it isn't about your friend. Sigh with relief! I reckon its about betrayal or people not appearing to be as they seem. You may be feeling this from someone or something in your life right now. Uncertainty, tentativeness etc. The dream perhaps represents your current concerns and nagging doubts about another. How sincere are they really?
