I was driving around the neighbourhood when my ex boyfriend drove past in an old green car (which he has never had).

As I was trying to work out which way to go a flock of grey birds on my left started flying all over the windscreen. I couldn't see where to go.

Automatically my windscreen wipers turned on and, to my horror, one of the birds had their wing caught in the wiper and was flapping wildly to release it. Just as I was trying to figure a way of stopping the wipers the bird tore its wing off and flew (somehow) away, leaving the other wing in the wiper.

The birds were everywhere. I came to a cross intersection and I wanted to go straight over the road however because of all the traffic coming from my left I was forced to turn right with the flow of the traffic, and I didn't want to.

The birds were still there but I could see a bit clearer. The birds were just near my car.

Dear Donna

I am just wondering how you felt about the break-up of your relationship with your ex. The fact that the car is green may indicate that jealousy was a factor in the breaking up.

Perhaps the flock of birds blocking your view indicates confusion on your part as to where you should go from here. The fact that the birds are grey feels to me like a depression, and this depression is clouding your judgement. Just as a bird needs wings to fly, perhaps your ability to lift yourself out of this feeling is being hampered. But by what?

Windscreen wipers wash away the rain, and in the dream, the bird's wing is trapped by the wiper. Perhaps this may symbolise washing away tears. Are you allowing yourself the chance to grieve over the break-up?

The crossroad indicates choices, which way to go, which attitude to take. Although you want to go to the left, you are forced to take the right road. Have you made a decision which you are regretting?

Thank-you Carole for your interpretation. I feel as though you were on the right track. Unfortunately the'ex' in the dream has been an 'ex' for 7 years, however is still in my life to some degree. The question now is how do I rid these feelings?
