"Bees"

Subject: Bees

Favonius

Hi everyone.

Dizzy and weak, I must share this sync before I go to bed. I went to a friends house with my grrrls today and as we arrived I stirred up some bees and was stung 5 times. Now I have been stung before and had no problems but this time I got all hot and woozey. I thought it was just from the number of stings so thought nothing of it and just sat down. On the table in front of me was a novel called A Recipe For Bees. As it turns out I had to be rushed to emergency as I was having a very bad reaction. I remembber in the hospital that that morning the grrrls and I went to MacDonalds for breakfast and with their kiddie meals they both got little Beanie Baby Bees. Back from the hospital I go into the room where kids are watching cartoons and the cartoon has a bee theme - Friendly bee companion, bee as Jiminy Cricket/Gaurdian Angel type of story. I look down at the coffee table and there is a pack of cards...Bee brand with a bee on each card. OK, OK I see it says I but what could it all be about.

Strangely my feelings for bees now are of more respect, not of fear and of course I am reading Recipe for Bees - Gail Anderson

The only thought I get on this so far is the message, "JUST BE". Could this be another step to the unravelling I am in the midst of?

Buzzing, Liam

Yup, I think you're right on there. Isn't 'being' just the best!

Thank god you're alright! Liam -- gees...bees!

Angela,

awoke from phantasmagorical (sp?) dreams no doubt from the weird mix of toxins in me.

I think part ofthe block may be that I cannot presently differenciate between BEING and trying (too hard) to BE.

Jane, Sadly I was in the hospital hooked up to machine that go "ping" most of Monday and consequently missed CBC's Web Stuff. I will check if it is on RealAudio download somewhere.

Still Spinney, Liam

Liam.

I had two dreams last night including the word 'Hard':

1)"Bob Hard" was on the phone. (The Bob was actually a man named Bob Wright -- it's hard to be right!)

2)There were two books (dream titled): 'A Secret Place' and 'A Little Publically'. The later contained a bracketed word on the cover -- "Hardword" or "Hardwood".

I guess I wonder if there is such a thing as trying 'too hard'. Kind of like over-reacting. I don't think it's possible. We react to the extent that needs to come out. So maybe it is just a time of 'hard'. And perhaps you have to 'be' through that too.

I noticed something interesting: You posted the other day that you had taken part in a fast to release your body of toxins. Just when you're all cleaned out, look what happens -- you get loaded up again.

There is a bit of a synch. going on with members on the forum regarding breathing here. In allergic reactions to bee stings, your throat closes up and you loose your ability to breathe... I spoke of this difficulty breathing as I went to the basement in one of my posts. Two other members have since mentioned it as well. And here it happened to you in real life.

I'm thinking that this comes back to the fact that it is part of the natural life cycle to create hurdles for ourselves. (*See Diane's 'Suffocating Turtle Eggs' on Member's)

Maybe this is what will make us strong and more resilliant in the future...? Maybe?

Angela.

ps. Spinning is fun as long as you stop before you puke... :)

Liam

The other day when you posted this I saw a TV show about BEE Creme on a current affairs show - this new creme is supposed to be an anti-inflamatory thing for people who suffer from arthritis.

Also, what immediately came to my mind when I read your post was that John Lennon song "Let it Be"...I love that song.

Hope you are recovering ok...

Jane Anderson

21:46 13/07/2000

Wonderful synch theme everyone.

BE well soon Liam.

Angela: a few hours after you recorded your dream phone call from Bob Hard (a couple of replies above in this thread) I received a phone call from a friend, Bob Hardie. I hadn't heard from Bob for a couple of months.

Bob is the man who is script writing our doc on my book The Shape of Things to Come and who will probably direct it too. Hence perhaps the synch over your reference to 'books'.

Wright (your Bob Wright) synchs with my story in The Shape of Things to Come about the Wright Brothers .. which will obviously be included in our doc-drama series too.

You may also remember - Liam and Angela - that both the Wright Brothers AND THE BEE/WASP STING story in The Shape of Things to Come originated for me in my hypnosis sessions when I travelled into my future .... (Don't know, Liam, whether you have read that far into Shape yet ..if not - wait for the bees!!!!)

To tie up the synchs, Bob is currently directing and producing a doc for ABC and BBC on the Australian Ballet who are currently performing 'Mirror Mirror' .. which is the title of a chapter in Shape and also the name of the television series my son, Euan, acted in ... (also storied in Shape) ..

So - plenty to think and wonder about there, hey?! Dizzying synchs indeed.

22:55 13/07/2000

Hi Liam, Thought I'd just add a few thoughts on what bees mean to me. Actually, I have a business called 'Blue Bee Ceramics', so named following a visit I had by two very beautiful native blue bees. My business has been going for about two and a half years, but it was not until about 6 months ago that I realized their significance to me. When I first started the business I 'tried' my hand at lots of different things. I worked very hard and did a lot of active marketing - all for very little return. I had been following my dreams, but somehow I guess I still thought that if I tried a bit harder, I could make it work. About a year ago I slowed down - and gave up trying. In my heart I knew that I was close, but I just couldn't make the breakthrough. Once I gave up, I had more specific dreams on how to proceed. Thanks to my dreams I now have two very saleable procucts, and a much easier marketing strategy. About a month ago, when faced with quite a lot of work, I started getting that old uneasy feeling. I had a dream that I was being chased by a swarm of bees, so I consciously decided to stop worrying and just do what I could. Now, when I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel I take the approach of doing now what I can comfortably do and trusting that the rest will get done in perfect time. When other people can't supply goods to me in the agreed time, the message is, I don't need it by then - and it's true. It has been a BIG lesson in patience for me, and its also about balance - knowing when to act, and when to 'BE'. Now I'm a happy busy bee!

Peta ps. I have set my new product range up under a new business name - which also came in a dream!

Angela

02:28 14/07/2000

Oh Jane!

That is so very cool! Bob Hard/Bob Hardie... And then the Wright Brothers and the Bee/Wasp thing!

So, can you tell us how to approach this kind of dreaming/synching? Does it simply take us somewhere? I know when synchs. have specifically applied to me that they certainly do take me somewhere. But what about when they seem to go outward like this? What then is my connection?

This kind of reminds me how things moved with the Horse Eyes. Do we hand meaning from one to another?

Angela.

Favonius

04:19 14/07/2000

Angela,

Maybe it kind of works like a beehive. Not as individuals but not simply as one being...somewhere in between. We each just naturally play the role "assigned" to us and everybody benefits. Or maybe I am just stuck on bees.

Peta. Thank you. A brilliant articulation of what I felt by just "being". Not a giving up certainly but rather a wise and peaceful acceptance. Great for you to have discovered this.

Jane, have not yet read about the bees but you can be sure I will tonight after work. Maybe with some honeyed toast to snack on.

Cheers all, Liam

Belinda

10:57 14/07/2000

Liam

I just love your hive insight/theory - I remember reading something where a scientist was trying to explain that if you put a peice of matter under a microscope, you would be able to see all the individual particles of energy - just like a bee hive and I think the point of the story was to show that even though we perceive objects as solid forms, the microscopic view is quite different. This then changes our view of the nature of reality - and what you said is relevent - in one sense we perceive ourselves as individuals but in another view we are all part of a hive - a collective - all that is. Was it you Jane that wrote this? I can't bring it to mind where I read it.

That makes me think that even though you experienced the bee stings and all the associated syncs you brought that back to the hive - as perhaps it's something not just you but all of us need to be reminded about.

Certainly made an IMPACT on me.

Well, Favonius, I'm glad you're okay, (and an amazing cluster too). I can only add that when a woman sadly died of bee stings a few months ago in suburban Sydney (same suburb I went to school at, the incident was front-page news - it was reported that she was trying to protect her baby who was badly injured), I remember thinking (apart from the shock and sadness of the tragedy) 'I better not take my honey for granted.'

10:35 15/07/2000

Hello Everyone,

Okay - to answer some of your questions about how I understand this:

Beautiful ripples of synchronicity triggering different yet meaningful responses as they resonate across the sea of the collective unconscious ...

The outer world reflects the inner world. Unconscious shifts (i.e. breaking old conditioning patterns, forming new ones, new perceptions of the self, breakthroughs, insights) are powerfully reflected in the outer world as multiple symbols: seen and felt as synchroniciites. The emotional, goose-bumping reaction is part of the process: the 'aha' of new insight, new perception, new personal MEANING.

One of the most powerful triggers for unconscious change is the language of dreams ... which is the language of the unconscious. Talk to the unconscious in its own language and you're bound to communicate more clearly. If you come to the forums regularly you are participating in each other's symbolism: talking with each other not only consciously using our various forms of the English language, but also powerfully unconsciously through rolling the symbols and meanings of dreams around in the open.

Another person's symbolism touches on your own unconscious ... it is as if we are in two modes of communication on the forum, in parallel: one conscious one unconscious, with much of the purpose of the forums being to bridge the gap between the two.

If someone else's dream symbol holds a pretty neutral position in your own unconscious, it will probably have little effect. However if it is emotionally charged, laced heavily into a conditioning pattern, or conflictual for you, then the parallel unconscious discussion will trigger changes within your own unconscious.

The deep sharing at our forums combined with the wisdom of all involved, is proving to be a powerful force for unconscious change. Working with similar symbolism at the same time, several people then make breakthroughs around the symbols and experience these as synchronicities.

As everyone participating at the forums also forms part of everyone else's 'outer world', then it is not surprising that synchroncities abound between us all. Not surprising - but awesome, numinous and deliciously exciting nonetheless.

Hope that helps to answer some of the questions posed to me here!

Where two people resonate to the same symbolism, synchronicity, telepathy, precognition and shared dreaming are likely to result. It's just that we can't always consciously relate to this because we are usually resonating to unconscious symbolism. It takes a little work on interpretation before the penny drops.

Oh, and Belinda, no, that beautiful hive analogy wasn't mine.

Toast and honey all round .. or should that be 'Toast the Honey'?

Favonius

Jane,

You are wonderful. Thank you for being here and sharing with us all!

Liam

Angela

15:06 15/07/2000

I second that!

I find it quite incredible how, personally, I seem to need the interaction to understand something. I can grasp all that you say in your writing Jane. I can feel it and think it, but until I actually live it, I do not seem to extract the full meaning.

This leads me to some further questions or wonderings: So, if Liam is synching with the bee/wasp part of the book and I am synching with the Wright (ah, writing!) part of your book -- each of us obviously gleaning our own private lessons as well -- then time is moving backwards and forwards? This would be the ripple effect? It seems now to be stepping outside the dream world. I've just grasped that my dreams go in both directions, but now I see that conscious life does too.

What is the most difficult to get my head around is that that would mean that maybe my thoughts were actually there when you had that fabulous discovery about the Wright bros. Would that make sense?

I'm drawn now to tell of an incredibly eerie, but beautiful visit, in the form of a vision, from a Dr. Wright (dear friend's father) on the night of his death, which would have been the very last night of March 1997. He used a coat hanger to wake me, just touching the hook across the top of my duvet cover. I always wondered why. Our connection was not that close. But he was certainly the only adult, besides my professors, who encouraged me to write while I was in my twenties.

However, the dates don't jive. The documentary you wrote of Jane, was in January. So, maybe that has nothing to do with anything...

This constant 'nowness' -- wow! Just plain (plane) fascinating and confusing.

Angela.

Angela

15:10 15/07/2000

Okay... This is weird. Did this happen to everyone else's screen?

Jane you have changed from a blue to a white background. And I feel more purple than usual.

Hmmmm.... Blue balloon to the white one...?

Probably just Ghosts In The Machine Angela (song by Sting)...lol....

Liam

Came across another Bee remedy today - this time for healing wounds.

Check out http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/stories/441.asp

Seems to be some good healing properties linked with bees and honey.

Belinda

Favonius

05:33 24/07/2000

Thank you Belinda,

I took a look at the article and it seems that the majority of us are just discovering what those from a "bee culture" have always known in regards to the healing power of bees. The novel 'A Recipe for Bees' is full of bee lore and remedies. Angela told me about bee therapy for a man suffering from M.S. and After my stings my knees lost all the pain that has plagued them for years and I was able to put in my best showing ever in my chosen sport.

I am truly intrigued and inspired by bees since my little run in with five of their warriors.

Liam

Jane Anderson

09:52 24/07/2000

So now you're 'the bees knees' are you Liam?

(Or is that an odd English expression that means nothing universally?)

Symbolically it's interesting that our knees take the strain of our weight bearing as we move around in waking life. Whether your knee pain resulted from strain, over-use, arthritis or whatever, it seems this period of rest and BEEing has been the remedy.

Ah... something has just struck me. I have been thinking of writing the next Dream Sight newsletter on running/being stuck in dreams and the dream/waking life remedy for this. Throughout the years I have called the kind of running you do in dreams where you get nowhere because of huge air resistance 'treacle running'. It feels as if you're running in invisible treacle. Perhaps honey would be a better analogy. Running in honey slows you down to bee .... but ... stop Jane .. I can feel my article writing itself, flowing, not stuck like treacle but flowing like honey so I'd better make that decision and go and write it while my brain is buzzing and my legs are running in their beeingness.

Congratulations on your sporting excellence Liam.

Here's a lovely synch in action to all of this:

While I wrote the above reply, my son, Euan, was playing his sax in preparation for an audition for a place in a nine piece working band after lunch. We were just chatting and I told Euan a little of the bee story and he said, "The name of the band I'm auditioning for is 'Honey' ".

Excuse me for taking over this thread for a few hours but we have some fast developments this end:

I decided to print out this thread to send Bob Hardie (who is mentioned in this thread) as the recent postings have overlap for him.

I am using recycled paper for printing and Bob is a good enough friend to accept recycled paper instead of fresh new pages. I am currently using an old draft of "The Shape of Things to Come".

Anyway, I printed it out and shuffled it on my desk and then saw the wasp/bee story from Shape staring back at me! It synched out that this story (as mentioned earlier in this thread) was the very story to come up on this batch of recycling paper (out of 400 or so pages).

The story spanned two pages of the forum print-out. I turned them over to see which part of the forum had come out on these pages. (You can check the following by selecting 'print' and then looking at how the page numbers work out.):

My wasp/bee story began on page 6 of the print-out version of the forum and continued onto page 7.

Page 6 started with a mention of the hive and went on to my answers to some of the synchronicity questions raised.

Stunningly, the first words at the top of page 7 on my print-out version were Angela's:

"That is so very cool! Bob Hard/Bob Hardie .. And then the Wright Brothers and the Bee/Wasp thing!"

Underneath that, still on page 7, Liam posted, "Jane, have not yet read about the bees but you can be sure I will tonight after work."

Finally I re-visited my own wasp/bee story as it appeared in this draft version. Almost back-to-back with Liam's comment was the line:

"Life was getting complicated, and this stung soul needed time out."

(Time out to BEE?)

The synchronicities and their meanings are thick and fast for me, and would constitute another book, so I'll stop here for now. Suffice to say that the running analogy, Shape, Bob Hardie, the honey, the questions of resistance (Hard) and beeing are compounding...like bee's eyes.

Jane Anderson

Angela

16:00 24/07/2000

I find I am almost tired of saying this, but, WOW! Does one tire of being wowed? Is that possible?

One question: this side of the hemishpere does understand 'bee's knees', but what is the bee's eyes allusion?

And I must add that I dreamt two nights ago that I had arrived at a utopia of sorts. There was a large elm like tree in the back yard that was split in two. I had to go down a grassy slope that was covered with bees -- knee high piles of bees -- that I had to almost ski through. Everyone at this place thought it was beautiful. I was filled with doubt because these bees were really locusts and I just couldn't understand how this could be seen as something so beautiful.

The next day a 'van' drove by the restaurant with the words 'Bee cleaners' on the side. Then later that night I was at a reading event which finished with a magician doing card tricks from a pack of 'Bee' cards. I thought of this thread each time, but I kept thinking: 'No, the synchs. with this are long over. Just let it be...'

Anyway, they've found their way to the surface again -- just a few more bees to add to the honey pot! And maybe a little of that resistance too...

Angela.

Jane Anderson

08:12 26/07/2000

Lovely addition Angela,

To answer your question: aren't bees eyes structurally multi-faceted? Insects eyes are technically known as 'complex eyes' as opposed to 'simple eyes' (from memory?) such as ours.

Did you work out the connection between the split elm tree and the locusts by the way?

Jane Anderson

Angela

13:49 26/07/2000

Man, I'm leaving in two hours and I'm not ready...but...I get so hooked on this stuff!

Elm is a 'HARDwood' tree, is it not? Locusts are detrimental to vegetation, right?

I'm remembering that Elm tree out my childhood window that died last summer -- the same summer there was a split in my family... And my father was a hobbiest beekeeper until my sister discovered her deathly allergy to their venom.

Didn't even notice the knee-high bees/bee's knees.

Thanks for the bee's eyes explanation. Though their perception might be more talented than ours, still don't think I'd like to be an insect...

Angela:

I wonder if you'll be online while you're away or whether this one will wait for you:

Locusts and Honey ... a biblical reference associated with 40 days in the wilderness (a spiritual journey)? My bible knowledge is not good .. but there is a connection, isn't there? (Locusts - honey - bees.)

Elm trees - there's a bit in 'The Shape of Things to Come' about the elm tree being uprooted in my waking life garden at a time which turned out to be hugely significant in my proverbial 40 days and 40 nights. You've read the book ... add it in to your own symbolism too.

Enjoy your time away,

Jane Anderson

Angela

03:23 09/08/2000

Thanks for these thoughts Jane.

My Bible knowledge is pretty much gone. So, I've zipped around the internet a bit just now to find out about locusts. One site says they are like grasshoppers. (Interestingly, my roomate dreamt of drinking a grasshopper that very same night that I dreamt of the locusts.) Virtually locusts are the same as grasshoppers, with the exception that as a group, the locusts become destructive. They increase in numbers and can form a plague if there have been several rainy years in a row.

The Plague of Locusts was the eigth plague in the book of Exodus. This is where the number 40, that you have just mentioned, becomes important. There were 40 years of Hebrew exodus?

Apparently the number 40 has been referred to multiple times throughout the Bible. Some scholars believe that it represents long periods of spiritual journey -- as you said Jane -- either as 40 days, nights or even hours.

And someone else, on one site, had asked why locusts are a plague threat only every 17 years. Apparently this is the cicadas, not the locust -- she was corrected -- but still, I saw the 17 (train accident age) and my eyebrow raised a little.

We'll see where this leads...

Angela.

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.

Jane Teresa Anderson

"Synchronicity is a waking dream ...

... and interpreting it as such
is immensely enriching."
