Subject: Can someone interpret this for me?

Jonathon

Inside a church I could see a crow perched on some candles in front of a stained glass window. Only I could see it, no-one else could. It flew past me and when I looked again its face had turned into an owl’s. Then it flew at me and scratched me.

Then I was outside and I had a feeling of dread. I somehow found out that I had been given a curse. I held a blank piece of paper which I had to hold on to, as it would in some way help.

Then I saw three things in the sky. The first was a spiritual, ghost-like figure. Next to it was the moon, and next to the moon was like a dog or wolf head. Something crossed from the spirit-like symbol, across the moon, and onto the wolf’s head and stayed there.

Hi Jonathan,

I can see why you were freaked out.

I'm just starting this one off, as I know others will want to help you here too.

There are several symbols of the night, the dark, or what comes out at night:

Crow (black)

Owl (active at night)

Moon (seen at night)

Wolf? howls at moon at night?

Candles - although related to a church, we light candles to see in the dark too.

Now, you also mentioned that you were the only one who could see the crow, so this suggests you are dealing with suddenly being able to see (understand, recognise) something which has, until now, been "in the dark" for you - i.e. unconscious, not in your conscious mind.

The background theme seems to be your spirituality OR, perhaps more accurately, the religious beliefs (church) you were brought up with.

A church in a dream often represents religious beliefs, though it may also represent your own spirituality. You are outside the church. When you are outside in a dream this often corresponds with the movement of something that was inside (belief, experience in the unconscious mind) into the outer world (or conscious mind - out in the open).

Somehow your dream suggests that religious or spiritual beleifs or experiences that you had stored "in the dark" are beginning to come to light for you.

Hurt is revealed - the owl (knowledge - wisdom?) makes you face pain (face is hurt).

Has religious knowledge caused you pain?

The blank piece of paper may well help - the opportunity to start anew, to write your own life/ spirituality?

There is so much more in your dream, Jonathan.

What do others see?

Hope this helps,

Jane Teresa Anderson

WOW. This is the first time ive tried to find out what one of my dreams meant, and its pretty amazing. I have been raised in a religious environment, although not pressured. I feel i am in touch with my own spirituality, but have been struggling with some ideas ive been raised to believe.

In my dream, the main thing that troubled me was the curse. I knew i had to get rid of it by passing it to someone else, but i couldnt bring myself to do it.

Hi Jonathan,

As Jane Teresa says, maybe it's time to write your own paper about your spiritual beliefs.

I, too, was brought up in a religious environment and I'm finding that some of the things I learned have stayed with me while a lot has gone by the wayside. We all have a choice about the beliefs we keep and the foundation of that choice lies within.

Best of luck with it.

Hi Jonathan

Do you remember anything about the curse? how it affected you?

Perhaps the curse, or what feels like a curse is questioning the beliefs you have - it puts you in a state of limbo or discomfort because you're questioning some important issues which may led to questioning of other things in your life. Does the uncertainty feel like a curse?

Is there someone else in your family or someone else you're close to that you can share what you're going through? As you said "you knew you had to get rid of the curse by passing it on to someone else" - maybe you get rid of the 'curse' by opening up to someone else....... maybe by sharing your questioning/ curse you get rid of it by making it not such a big deal/ curse?
