Hi Zach,
A good place to start with a dream can be to look for some opposites. For example, you have:
backstage (to meet the band) and front of the room (where the nuns were praying).
Back - in a dream - can be about what you keep in the back of your mind, or about the deeper more private parts of yourself. (The band would be acting more themselves in the privacy of backstage than they would on show on stage.)
Front - in a dream - can be about what you have in the front of your mind or what you show of yourself to the world.
In your dream you wanted to get backstage but security guards were in the way. You tried to escape them, and, after talking with the Nuns you started running again (trying to escape the nuns?) but then decided to go back to talk to them.
The security guards possibly represent the ways in which you keep more private parts of yourself (or your more private beliefs) safe and hidden ... but, as this dream shows, it may be that you are really keeping the deepest, private parts of yourself inaccessible even to yourself!
You run ... escape ... not wishing to face some beliefs you have about security (also shown in the militiary)...
and end up trying to talk to the Nuns, but being unable to.
What role has the Catholic religion played in your life?
Has religion been mixed up with security/ authority in some way?
The 'chips in your head' suggest programmed thinking. Was religion somehow 'programmed' into your life or into your beliefs?
The dramatic part of your dream is the electrocution, the part where you saw God. This makes me think of bands playing on stage where a singer has been electrocuted ... I wonder what the connection is there?
The main thing was the impact of the FEELING of the electrouction - it was so real for you - and the seeing of God - an intense experience all round. At the same time you were unable to communicate with the praying Nuns. All of this suggests another pair of opposites:
Not being able to talk with the Nuns (Catholic religion?) vs having a non-verbal amazing experience (your own spiritual experiences?).
Right at the start of the dream there is a contrast between the militiary (authority) and the band (? freedom of expression?)
Do these pairs of opposites and questions begin to form a picture for you, Zach?
Just a starting point ...
