"Deja Vu"

Author

Subject: Deja Vu

Lynn

In the member's community, I've posted a thread called DejaVu. I had one in a place I've never been, and somehow, it convinced me to stick with something (a job) for a bit longer. I can't explain why. It has since turned into a synch that I'm not really sure what to do with.

I've recently met this person. I can't describe what I felt when I saw him other that recognition. Not that I've seen him somewhere before, but that I've known him before. Something in his eyes. I've been thinking about this obsessively.

Today I went to the video store, looking for a movie to distract me. I was drawn to a movie called "Deja Vu" because of my earlier post. Never heard of it, just drawn by the title. I rented it, brought it home, and it turns out to be about two people who meet and recognize each other. They literally say all the things I've been thinking the past two days.

This has never happened to me before, this "recognition". Has anyone else experienced this? Please tell me about it before I go completely insane.

I forgot to add that this person I met, I wouldn't have met if I hadn't stuck with the job I wanted to quit for just a bit longer.

Hi Lynn.

Don't go completely insane. You are not alone. I love these 'knowing' feelings. I think, in my mind, of them as pure intuition. I have many examples. I'll give you three:

1) My present soul-mate. (I say 'present' because this tends, unfortunately, to change for me.) I saw him on the bus eight years ago. I 'knew' instantly that I would know him. Maybe that's one step past the recognition? But it was the same as you mentioned: it was his eyes, the way he held his head, his hand on the back of the seat. It struck me intensely. We have been off and on lovers for all of those eight years. And he struggles with the very same family issues that I do.

2) An actor in my film class. I was on the film crew and was just taking in the surroundings when he struck me. I 'knew' something. I knew that I'd either know him or he'd become 'known'. I did get to know him, but he'd probably not remember me now. I have seen him many times since though on Canadian television series, small parts in movies, commercials, etc.

3) An author on a dust jacket. It was as if his eyes were looking straight at me. I just 'knew' it. I met him six months later and he is now my mentor.

This is what I think Lynn. I think we all are blessed with intuition and foresight. And that it just waits, in some people indefinitely, for us to become aware of it. I think these people are reflections of oursleves, that we can see the thing in them that relates to our souls at that time. Kind of like picking up a book that holds no interest for you, then two years later you pick it up again and it is wonderful.

No.1 is my on-going struggle and need. And we provide healing for each other by loving each other.

No.2 is my connection to fame. On my more confident days, I vainly believe that I will have some.

No.3 is my connection to writing. The knowledge that I 'must' do this.

All three re-iterate my life. All three have different roles. One doesn't even exist in my present life, but I still got that feeling from him.

I wonder that you've bumped into something deeply intrinsic to yourself in this man. This meeting will more than likely have a profound meaning for your life.

It's a wonderful thing. I feel it in these interactions sometimes. For instance, I knew I would know you too.

So, what do you think Lynn? What is he connecting to in you? Terribly curious...

Angela.

Lynn, I must continue with Angela's thread. This man could be your catalyst for change or for arriving "home", although I do agree with Angela in the recognition that these people are reflections of ourselves that we are seeking i.e. projections, I am also I firm believer in past lives, in the reincarnation of people in the same circles (they meet again to fix something from their past lives). Whether this means this man will be a lover or not (whether you be seeking one or not) who knows, he may be a not-lover the having or not having of which will fix a certain aspect of your soul that it is destined to fix in this lifetime. In any case - do not let this go.. seek him out on the logical levels, according to your inuitions, let back when it feels right to sit and wait but have your finger on the pulse of the matter. As Angela's examples so clearly cut - these people will have intrinsic roles in our lives - temporary or not they are vital to achieving what we are here to do. Have fun with this, let it reveal... I can already see the joy in your next photographs as a reflection of this recognition. How wonderful! love,Babel

Lynn:

I've also had many of these experiences (only one romantic). One in particular completely rocked my world and nearly destroyed it. I look back now and realize how much I learned and am grateful for the opportunity. We met in an airport and the attraction was profound and immediate for each of us. I knew everything about him instinctively (he did, as well). For 4 years we would weave in and out of each other's lives (we lived 300 miles apart) - it was nearly obsessive. The downfall was that his faith wasn't as strong as his drive professionally. He wasn't at the same place I was at the time. When he reached that place, I had rerouted my life simply for self preservation. Although I will always love him with such amazing intensity, we were meant to slide through this lifetime with only a short passionate relationship. I finally reached closure in September and that was the hardest, most confusing four years of my life. I have never felt such intensity of emotion and energy as that. I look forward to our next meeting - in another life. I don't think my soul could bear it again in this one.

I suppose the moral of this story is to please recognize that eventhough the intensity may be absolutely amazing, he may be a transition to another place. Bless the opportunity and your relationship. If this is the case, you'll meet again, soon. Dianne.

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.

... and interpreting it as such
is immensely enriching."
