OVERVIEW INTERPRETATION
Hi Chris,
A marriage of convenience is all about practicality, not passion. Where in your life have you made a practical choice rather than a passionate one? What do you do, accept or live with because it is convenient for you?
You married a small woman, but purchased a very big property. The small woman may represent the small passion and the big property may represent the big practical gains.
A female partner, in a dream, can symbolise your female side: your Yin, your inner world, or the qualities of your right brain such as creativity, emotional connections, intuition, spirituality, being in the moment and holistic thinking. Your small woman suggests you may be belittling or under-using (stunting) these qualities right now. Practicality is more a Yang, outer world, left brain quality.
Even though you’ve bought into the convenience and practicalities of a situation, you only live in the lower apartments. You could see the lower apartments in a similar way to the small woman – stunted, not using your full higher potential.
Being close to the ground tends to indicate practicality too. The higher up you go in a dream building, the more it tends to represent higher levels of thinking and being. Your dream suggests you have stunted your passions and your higher potential, so it’s wonderful that you suddenly get the urge to have a look in the penthouse as you had forgotten what it looked like. Suddenly you ARE interested in exploring or getting back in touch with that higher potential.
So it’s no surprise that the first thing you see when you look into the apartment is its amazing potential. Chris, you were looking at YOUR amazing potential.
The green colour could reflect potential personal growth (like plants), although you saw the potential for a makeover, for getting rid of the green, so you might like to explore other possibilities for green, such as ‘green with envy’, for example. My feeling is that the green represents past growth that has given you the tools and experience to know how to move on from here. However, issues of envy, in previous relationships perhaps, may have influenced your decisions, in the past, to pull back from working at a higher level.
You had forgotten what the penthouse looked like and you mention your excitement at re-finding this apartment, so there is a clue here. You have been here before but lost touch with the feeling and the potential. Your excitement suggests passion. It’s time to get back in touch with your passion and move back on up. Whether or not you feel you can do this without certain practical conveniences is something you need to explore, but the important thing is to note where convenience stunts your growth and where it supports it.
You mention the possibility of a career in interior decorating. Sounds like a perfect dream alchemy practice to me!

DREAM ALCHEMY PRACTICE
Visualisation:
Visualise yourself standing in the penthouse after you have moved in. You now own the place. You have started the makeover. Visualise some of the changes you have made and summon up a feeling of passionate excitement. Breathe it in. Get in touch with the feeling of unlimited creativity.
How often to do this:
Do this visualisation 20 times a day for a week, ten times a day for the second week and twice a day for the next month.
How does this work?
This practice will ensure that change occurs for you in the best possible way – a positive healing transformation. Your dream expressed your waking life situation using dream language – the language of your unconscious mind. By reliving the dream with changes, or by transforming one of the dream symbols (or by reliving and intensifying the dream in the case of a dream with a positive ending) you are using vision and feeling to reprogram your unconscious beliefs.
