Hello Everyone!

Here's a short but sweet synchronicity my husband, Glen, had yesterday which he thought you might like to share.

We live in the centre of Brisbane, Queensland (Australia) and decided to drive south for some fresh sea air yesterday. There are many options here, and we decided on a section of the coast about a 20-25 minute drive away.

Just as we were leaving home Glen noticed a funny sight: a truck (ute) with a doberman standing up in the open-air back with its paws on the driver's cabin, it's nose pointed ecstatically to the direction of travel and its ears flying back in the wind. All that was missing was a pair of goggles and an old-fashioned pilot's hat. The dog gave an expression of great eagerness. We had a laugh.

Further down the road, after we had gone a different way, the truck again appeared in front of us. Then for a third time too. Each time, it was Glen who noticed because each time I was looking at something else. (This is why it became Glen's synchronicity.)

Nothing too unusual so far. We got to our chosen beach and then decided to drive round to a more isolated point - somewhere we hadn't been before. We got out and sniffed the air: if we had long ears they would have been flying back in ecstasy with the salty air I love so much.

Who should walk by but - of course, the doberman and his owners. (If you know the layout of Brisbane, its roads and its coastline you will know this is quite something.)

Glen wondered what it meant. I pointed out that the first time he saw the dog he had remarked, "Think of the smells he's picking up". In dream/life symbolism, noses often represent intuition. We say, "Follow your nose" to mean "Follow your intuition". We talk about "sniffing it out" or "smelling your way" too. The dog had been quite literally smelling his way and we had been following the dog. Somewhere in there, I suggested, was a reflection of "Follow Your Intuition".

Glen agreed that he had been doing that more so lately (indeed, he has, with courage and with great results).

Then I realised the name of the place we had all arrived at: Wynnum - well a "point" (peninsula) in Wynnum. I suggested that Glen's synchronicity was a reflection of his increasing realisation that by following your intuition you "win 'em". (Wynnum is pronounced 'win them' without the 'th'.)

Just 'point' your nose in the right direction by following your intuition to win them ...

What a happy feeling synchronicity!

Yes - even more so when you read part of my post in "lady bugs' above! I see some things coming together quite sweetly!

By the way, a few days later we heard on the news that someone who lived in a caravan at Wynnum (the very same Wynnum) won a few million dollars on the lotto! I did wonder whether we'd missed a vital clue and walked past the Wynnum newsagent who had the winning ticket for sale, but discovered the draw happened just before our little adventure. Still .. right place to Wynnum for sure!

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.

is immensely enriching."
