Well can I just start by saying I have had the most incredible synchronicity with the number 11, 11:11, 10:01, and other double digits generally 15:15, 21:12 etc etc
I don't wear a watch and feel suffocated wearing them always have (that, and I stopped them as a child, at one stage I had 5 watches, a couple of digital and analogue) can't wear them! My only connection with visual time is on my phone at work and my mobile phone when its on, Oh and the PC (the little clock in the bottom right hand corner).
In any event the time and number have been popping up elsewhere other than those three areas. The most incredible was I was reading "Ella" by Uri Gellar (an amazing book for any one interested). I got to the last page, the last paragraph in fact wherein Uri Gellar says; "whilst you've been reading this book and before you started you may have been experiencing synchronicity with the number 11, 11:01; 11:11" etc etc he went on in much more detail and explained his thoughts behind this combination. He asked anyone who'd had this experience to contact him, which I've written but not sent yet.
The eleven popped up again today - the London train crash happened at 8:11am. I've received 3 voicemail messages this week at 11 past the hour. I've journaled countless other incidents. The other night our VCR timer got stuck on 8:11pm, its now ticking over again after being stuck for two days.
I'm not entirely sure why it's happening, but it keeps me smiling and wells up in me the most extraordinary amount of faith in life, the likes of which I haven't felt for a long time.
Anyone else out there 11:11 or double digits.....

Hi, For some time now I have been seeing the 11:11, 11 past the hours, and also 22"s - particularly on my oven clock which is a 24 hour clock -hence 22:22 seems to be of some significance. A couple of weeks ago I had an interesting dream which has for me removed some of the mystery. All the dream consisted was the image of a digital clock face which read I'M:I'M. My interpretation of this image is that the 11:11 is like a contraction of 1 AM : I AM.
What do you think?

Peta, When I looked at your post- "I'M, I'M" I immediately thought of roman numerals. M = 1000 1000+1000= 2000, millenium? Millenium also has two ll's that look like the number 11. 1+1 also equals 2, like centuries. Just a thought. |

Hi JuliA, I had a long and involved dream last night but when I came to transcribe it all I can remember is 11:17 standing out. Not sure if its 17 of November or time or what but there have been a few other 11's appearing in my dreams ( eg a neice when she is 11 etc ) I'll keep monitoring it. |

Hi Everyone,
There was a huge discussion on 11:11 and the synchronicity of number in the "Synchronicity Forum" on our 'old' site. This was shortly before the forums broke down, after which I had the precognitive dream which delivered the Dream Network Team and the birth of our new site.
All our previous forum discussions (dream and synchronicity) are archived for members to read. However, I have selected a few posts on this subject and re-posted them here to add to the current discussion.
Here they are:

One number which has been 'presenting itself' to me for years is 11:11 - usually as the time of day. I occasionally mention this to people. Recently I was emailing a conversation back and forth and noticed how the 11:11 time kept coming up. This would seem to happen 'despite the odds': for example, I would send an email only to be told my sending programme had an error which, by the time it was cleared, made the send time 11:11.
Almost flippantly I mentioned this to the person at a later date. He responded that he had a book called "11:11" which wasn't very insightful (I'm being polite!!!) - he wrote that the book mentions an 'Opening of the Doorway of the 11:11' starting from 11 January 1992 going to 2011.
Well .. yes - well ... the only thing is, my daughter was 11 on 11 Janaury 1992. So the synchronicity continues. Jane Anderson

Reference: Numerolinguistics-"the language of numbers" William Mike, Pennsylvania State Univ. The 11 is a master number, and lifts the 2 to limelight activities. This vibration is "magnetic," and indicates an "electrical" individual with originality and intuition. Number elevens are generally called to action for some great cause; not all respond-being satisfied with fulfillment as a #2... 11 and 11, as the supreme #22... The #22 is the Master number, and represents the "Master Builder." Moses was a 22...Buddha also...

Thank you Ronald and welcome. I had to smile when I read your information because it did resonate with an 11:11 appearance during the week and your interpretation of the symbolism made some sense. Here's what happened: Last week was the week of the big move: the web site transferring from one server to a better server. The move was a little bumpy as the process revealed that some of my quirky web-mastering skills (the result of my 'original' lateral thinking/problem solving) weren't built to survive the (?electrical?) transition. I had to *master* some new skills to make the changes.
At the same time my web hosts had some adjustments of their own to make which required a jump in my technological understanding if I was to follow what was, and what was not, working out. Along the way I discovered that although the site had been moved, the web hosts had forgotten to validate my passwords so that I could access and edit my site. Many hours later, a voice on the phone told me "Okay, Jane ... one minute .. (tap, tap on the keyboard) .. yes .. that's IT: all your permissions are now cleared. You're free to edit!" I watched the clock on my computer roll over to 11.11 and thought "But of course!"
Reading your interpretation later suggested to me that I was 'resisting' limelight (a world-wide web site is limelight) by 'manifesting' all sorts of obstacles including denying myself full permission to edit/change and generally web*master*. The 11.11, perhaps, was reminding me that if I have something to share with like-minded people, I should make sure I'm not holding myself back. Interestingly, my daughter's eleventh birthday (see original posting) was a couple of weeks after we moved to Queensland. This is significant because I can trace back my decision to work professionally with dreams/to write precisely to that move. My birthdate is the 22nd. Very, very far from a Moses, I would like to master the art of creating the best web space I can for offer. In masterbuilding my Dream Temple, all feedback is much appreciated. Jane Anderson

Our fasination with numbers is a most ancient truth. When Dr. Carl Jung wrote about his 'synchronicity principle,' he included the comment that, "since the remotest times people have used number to establish "meaningful coincidences," that is, coincidences that can be interpreted." This brings to mind two films, that have clicked for me. One is the "Clan of the Cave Bear," where the Shaman of the tribe shows his mystical ability to count. The other is, "Defending your life," where the character, played by Albert Brooks, is being defended by a Cosmic Advisor. While in the advisors office, he notices him reading something, and asks, "what are you reading." The advisor says, "Why, I read numbers." The only truth worth knowing, is that 2+2=4... At least it is something we can all agree on, lol... "man has need of the word, but in essence, number is sacred." Dr. Carl Jung...

I have had an ongoing interest in numerology, and also a personal and academic interest in the concepts of Carl Jung. Interestingly, numerologically my birth number is 22/4! However, one of my favourite quotes/sayings is: 'We think because we understand 1 that we understand 2, because 1 and 1 equals 2. But we also need to understand 'and'.' So 2 + 2 does not necessarily equal 4. It depends on what the = represents. From my reading of Carl Jung, I tend to think he would have agreed with this.

Hi everyone
Peta - I love the I:AM I:AM
It's certainly an interesting time on this planet and there is definetly a change in energy around - I'm not sure what the 11:11 and double numbers mean for me personally but I know that we are certainly entering a new phase in the world at the moment. The other thing with the 1 is (numerologically) the world is in a new cycle this year 1+9+9+9 = 10 = 1 so symbollically the end of the millenium has already happened the world is already beginning its new cycle. What suprises me the most is the amount of people who have the double number and 11 experience.
I have a great friend on the Gold Coast who is pregnant, she's not into anything metaphysical or esoteric at ALL!!! I was telling her about the 11 & double digit experience and thought she'd laugh - it transpires that she's been getting up at 3:11 every morning to go to the toilet and if her baby is restless it's always ?:01 past the hour..... everytime.

I recently found a book on synchronicity called 'There Are No Accidents' by American author Robert H. Hopcke (1997) in my local library. In it he comments on the case of a Greg who sees 11 in various ways in a particular relationship (his girlfriend saying "I always look at the clock at 11:11"):
"Haunted by the number 11, Greg seems at a loss about what to make of the repeated appearance of this number in connection with his relationship. The way he writes about the experience - as if a meaning is to be found outside somewhere, 'behind' it all, rather than in his own experience, in the feelings and associations that this number evokes in him - provides an example of a not very fruitful way work with synchronicities.
"Since there is no single objective meaning to the symbol 11, for like all symbols it points to something that cannot be fully known, there is no end to the meanings the number 11 could have. 1 + 1 = 2 might be an allusion to the way that he + his girlfriend = a new integral unit together. The repetition of the number 1 might indicate the repetitive singleness of his life without her. Undoubtedly, anyone reading this book could add their own associations and interpretations to this number with regard to Greg's relationship."
And as if to reinforce that message in a cluster effect, 2 days later on a 7 a.m. kids quiz show (as I was minding my toddler) I saw this question displayed on the screen: "What historical event ended on 11/11/1918?" Make of this symbol what you will, for me 11:11 (and its variations on a theme) is a 'probability wave function', a pattern that connects rather than a particular thing for me (although that's how I first perceived it). 4 beats to the bar, 4 pulses in my heart, parallel channels (of nonlocality, my favourite word of the year), whatever...(it's stupid, it's profound, it's the sublime and the ridiculous).
Bye fo(u)r now, G.

Hello Everyone *smile*, first time posting.. I was interested in the 11.11, caught my eye! I have been seeing these numbers for a long time now, on clocks everywhere, pages of books, posts in clubs..I'll wake up at 11.11, 1.11am or 11.00 or page 11, 111, only thorugh reading this had I recalled the house I grew up in and dreamnt of for many years (no longer) and had the fondest memories was No 11! I read the I AM (by Peta) and that blew me away, I am involved in many spiritual, new age clubs online and for the past months have been writing alot on the I AM (me, self)so as you can imagine that stood out too! But the numbers do not stay at 11, I have recently seen 77, 99 in my dreams also. From what I have researched this is a worldwide occurence and is more significant then realised. I have found an interesting website, but am unsure if I can post it here? Mrs Anderson I love your site, newsletters and am currently reading your first 2books, long time passionate dreamer and look forward to coming in more often.
Love to All Christel (Christabelle67 is my online handle :) |

Hi everyone,
So great to find all the synchronicities in here around the 11:11...the same thing has been occurring to me, for such a long time...so many times I look at the clock and find the time either at 1:11 or 11:11...comforting to know that is a shared happening with so many people...I have no other insights on this, other then those already mentioned... Somehow it is always the time...and I dare I say here is the place no matter where I find myself...and yes often it feels like a little gift from the angels...a reminder...I Am... |

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?
________
Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way. Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ... Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.
Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams. When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness. At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity. To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.
Reality may never feel the same again!
______
P.S.
In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream. The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.
This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow. What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)
It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.
Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.
There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.
My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.
Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.
Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.
