"Zippety Do Dah, Zippety Day"

I was laid off from my job in October and have been reflecting on a lot of elements of my life and the lack of a lot of things since my arrival into the US.

I made a conscious choice on Friday to change things and started making some material and physical changes early Saturday morning.

I was feeling a surge of spiritual and mental energy, I stood at the back door and was watching my new puppy sit outside and look at the world when........... right before my eyes a blue and white bird landed in our backyard. Unfortunately my only witness is India the puppy. The bird took off to a tree and then came swooping back down and landed on the grass again. I looked at India and she looked at me and we both acknowledged the amazing sight of this bright blue bird in OUR yard!

Hi Julia,

Well, amazing!

I was just reading, less than 30 seconds ago, and in my periphery I could see movement at the kitchen window. I glanced over and there was a bluejay (a blue and white bird) bouncing very briefly on a tree limb before it soared quickly off, almost as if it could feel my eyes upon it.

Synchronicity to your synchronicity!

Angela.

Is that what they are? Blue Jays? I can't believe HOW blue they are!

Angela

I would guess that's what you're seeing, Julia. And, yes, aren't they blue!!

Hi Julia, I just read your reference in the member's forum to a blue bird, so peeked in here to read about it.

Well, well, well, yesterday morning when I woke up I recalled a dream fragment in which I had seen a blue and white bird. It had 2 distinct blue feathers on its wings and that's all. The rest was white. It was like nothing I would recognise and I'm sure not a blue jay.

I picked it up, turned it on its back, held it in my left hand and stroked its belly like I do the cats. It appeared at that stage to be a Spinebill, which we have in Australia, but it was nothing like it.

I welcomed the dream as a sign that things are looking up. I have had some interesting synchronicities with blue feathers and equate them with intuition.

Love, Gloria

Hi Julia, Angela & Gloria,

Julia - have you seen the film - oh, what's it called .. K Pac?

Kevin Spacey plays a character who asserts that he is from another planet. As part of his journey he spends time in a psychiatric unit and (well, no way am I going to spoil the end of the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it) but there is a lengthy and significant part of the story revolving around believing in the Blue Bird of Happiness.

(Hmmm... a Blue Bird ... I think it was the Blue Bird of Happiness.)

Well - only those who found the way to look for the Blue Bird saw it ....

I wondered whether you had seen the film. Perhaps your unconscious mind equated the 'happiness' with the 'sadness' you had just resolved to overcome and then simply (as in all synchronicities) manifested it.

(Or manna - fested, as we say in the Members' Forum, with good reason.)

Hello JT, Gloria and Angela

I have seen K pac and thought of that and the song zippidydodah - both were blue bird of happiness references.

I do feel that sometimes I am an alien on another planet here in Colorado. I've never really fit in, so I hope the bird sighting means that I'm going "home" soon. Whether that means Australia or just 'home' to myself.

Since I've had the 'blue bird' synch and I've been more in synch with myself - it has been odd to watch the opposition or 'stuff' that people are throwing my way in silent protest. The blue bird stays as a reminder of my quest and what I can accomplish.

Hi, I wonder if any of you have noticed the bird on these forums is blue, that is lavender blue.

WHAT IS
SYNCHRONICITY?

Jane Teresa's Explanation

Jane Teresa Anderson

WHAT IS SYNCHRONICITY?

________

Synchronicity occurs when you experience a coincidence, or several coincidences, that seem so bizarre that you feel they must be meaningful in some way.

Some people believe that synchronicities are signs to follow, to lead you to where you are 'meant' to be. My understanding, however, is that not all synchronicities are to be followed, because ...

Synchronicities are SYMBOLS of where you're at, not signs to follow.

Synchronicities speak the same symbolic language as dreams.

When you experience a synchronicity, you are witnessing a change within yourself, an insight, a birth of something that has been unconscious bubbling up into consciousness.

At such times of change we see, all around us, symbols that reflect our shift in perception and self-understanding. This is synchronicity.

To understand this fully, and to see why it is not always appropriate to follow synchronicity, you can read my book, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. This way you can also discover how to read the synchronicities in your life and how to act on them in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Reality may never feel the same again!

______

P.S.

In Jungian terms all synchronicities begin with a dream.

The dream comes first, then the symbol from the dream appears in waking life in ways that seem incredibly meaningful - though, classically, it is hard to understand, consciously, what that meaning is.

This is because the dream is painted by your unconscious mind in advance of your conscious mind 'catching up'. When the insight (unconscious shift) is big, synchronicities follow.

What happens is that your incredibly powerful unconscious mind (far more powerful than your conscious mind) manifests its insight physically into your waking life. (You have changed - the world, as you experience it, changes in accordance.)

It usually takes up to a couple of weeks before your conscious mind understands the symbolic dream manifesting in your waking life as synchronicity.

Being human, as we all are, we often forget the original dream but still experience the synchronicities.

There are many excellent reference sources on Jungian synchronicity.

My approach is largely Jungian, but slightly shifted.

Again, if you are seriously in-depth interested, I suggest you read my book "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME" to understand where I am coming from.

Quite simply, synchronicity is a waking dream and interpreting it as such is immensely enriching.
