Chapter 22
Summary:
Interpretation Guide
The Tree of Discovery
The Tree of Discovery (below) guides you
towards interpreting your dreams according to the methods and insights you have acquired
from the Magician on the Astral Plane.
Start at the base of the tree, where you awake
from the dream and write it down. Select seven different coloured highlighter pens to
highlight the separate branches as shown:
Purple: Universal/shared
symbols (Chapters 9 and 10)
Blue: Personal symbols
(Chapter 11)
Pink: Feelings and Emotions
(Chapter 12)
Green: People (Chapter 15)
Yellow: Cliches, puns, telling words
(Chapter 13)
Dark red: Actions: active
(Chapter 14)
Light red: Actions: passive
(Chapter 14)
Refer back to the appropriate chapters until this becomes second nature.
Move higher in the tree to work on these branches and contemplate their meanings,
dividing the branches into smaller twigs as you grow in understanding. (Chapters 9-15).
Now let your twigs start to bear
leaves and fruit as you begin to tie your
learning together and embellish the meanings which are beginning to develop from your
dream work (Chapters 16 and 18).
Move up to the growing tips of the tree to see if your dream came to a satisfactory conclusion. Were
all the actions carried out? Do you see resolution? Or did you miss the end of the dream
and need to work up here in the top of the tree on filling in the blanks? (Chapter 17)
Did you fly away from the dream tree and reach other realms? Perhaps you
time travelled, experienced precognitive or spiritual dreams or indulged in a trip around
the astral? Spend time here in waking contemplation (Chapters 19 and 20)
Take the leap from the top of the tree: Go and do it! Put the dream
learning into action to improve your life. Start slowly and watch your dreams for
feedback. (Chapter 21)
Later, from the distance (up in the sky, somewhere near the rainbow!), some way further down the
track, look back through your dream journal with the benefit of hindsight.
