What do you really want?
copyright Jane Teresa Anderson, October 2009

What do you really want? Do you know? And if you do know what you really want, do you know why you haven’t got it?
Before continuing with this theme, here’s a quick rundown of the updates in this newsletter:
In September we added four podcasts (details below), as well as a video of my September regular TV appearance on nationally broadcast The Morning Show. Podcast Episode 21 covers a sensitive subject that is a must-listen for parents of pre-teens.
One thing I really want is your opinion on a new direction we’ve taken this month with our podcast show. Usually we have someone call in with a dream, which I then discuss and interpret, but I received some requests for an occasional in-depth special, so we responded by producing Episodes 22 & 24, as you can see in the updates below. What do you think? Which do you prefer? What would you like us to cover in our weekly shows?
I’ve had an interesting month, a lovely balance between working with ongoing and new clients, enjoying watching everyone’s progress as they begin to identify what they really want, how to get it, and – joy of joy – their elation when the alchemy delivers results.
A recent client asked me what her dream was telling her to do. She wanted direction, and knew that direction was to be found in her dreams. I explained that a dream NEVER tells you what to do. It’s a common trap. A dream shows you how your mind works today – it shows you how you process your experiences according to your unique conscious and unconscious beliefs. It shows you why you see the world the way you do, why you take the actions you do, why you get the results you get, and why you sometimes don’t get the results you want to get. Based on this knowledge, you can then see which of these beliefs you need to change so that you can get the life results you really want. The dream alchemy practices reprogram your beliefs according to what you want to achieve.
So a dream doesn’t tell you what to do. It tells you what you need to know so that you can see what to do (alchemy) to get the results you want. And if you don’t know what you really want, your dream tells you what you need to know about yourself so you can be clearer about what drives your choices. Working with your dreams is a process of peeling back the layers to reach your authentic self, to discover what your authentic self really wants, because that’s where you open the door to a life of meaningful success.
So, back to the opening question: What do you really want? Do you know? And if you do know what you really want, do you know why you haven’t got it?
To know what you really want, you need clarity. And to know why you haven’t got it, you need insight.
Thankfully, your dreams offer the opportunity to give you both clarity and insight, but it can be very tricky to interpret your own dreams because your blinkers and blocks – your habitual perspective - can obscure your vision. How can you see the way to get what you really want if all you can see are the four walls of your familiar comfort zone?
My job is to help you gain clarity and insight through your dreams. I can look in at your dream and see what you cannot see. I love my job!
Okay on with the updates and links. Enjoy! And please spread the word about the podcasts.

Episode 21: Lyn
Are sexual dreams normal for a 10 year old girl? Lyn's daughter, Paula, has had a run of sex dreams, and both mother and daughter are concerned. In this podcast, I discuss these dreams with Lyn - with Paula's permission. Why does she have these dreams, and what is the issue behind them? What do tweens and young teenagers commonly dream, and do they worry in silence, afraid to mention them? This podcast discussion is a must-listen for parents and tweens. Listen, then pass the link on to help others.
Episode 21
Episode 22: Special episode
"Dreams of Death, Dying and the Departed". This week's Special is for our many listeners who have asked for more specific details about death dreams. Instead of talking with a guest dreamer, I discuss dreams of death, dying and the departed - including dreams of haunting and evil presences. These common, scary dreams, once understood, can be most insightful and freeing, as you will discover as you listen.
Episode 22
Episode 23: Chelsea
Chelsea dreamed of going up in an elevator all the way to the top where the view was beautiful and the air expansive. Several months later, she dreamed of going down in the elevator, surrounded by chaos. The next day she realised the date was 9/11, and wondered about the coincidence. Were the two dreams related, and was the date of the last dream significant? How do the dreams relate to Chelsea's life? There’s good take-away insight in this episode for everyone.
Episode 23
Episode 24: Special episode
How many of your dreams involve trying to get somewhere, only to be endlessly delayed? What do you need to do to reach your waking life - as well as your dreaming life - goals? And have you ever worried that dream interpretation will take you back to explore aspects of your past you'd rather not face, cans of worms you'd rather not open? In his Special, I explore dream journeys ... past, present and future.
